- ہیلو! ScaringCrab here and today we have some request by some ppl to do more Fleet Histories! Here you go! :D Ibirdball inspired me to do this so yeh! Now this is the 747-200/300 of PIA, hope you enjoyed it :)

Having been Chief Pilot 747s in PIA and flew the type for 15 years, I LOVED that aircraft. It was so steady and reliable--the safest plane in the sky. I much preferred the livery that had PIA in white on a green background on that huge tail. Successive governments used the airline for their own purposes and dumped their own garbage in the airline---their friends, and relatives who caused the disgusted, efficient regulars to leave for other airlines who snapped them up and used their talents. Two of the MDs were starting their own airlines and (obviously) worked against the aniline to benefit the emergence of their own. It is a wonder that PIA has survived all this. I was lucky to fly in the airline for 37 years and saw its great days when we were "Great People to Fly With ."

Travelled in it 9 - 10 times.. Such a legendary fleet that was..!
I flew in an almost empty 747 from Karachi to Lahore, the maintenance was so poor it wasn't allowed to land in the UK anymore. All retired now I guess
That was only for a couple of years 2007 to 2009
All 743s retired in 2015 now all replaced by 777s
This song is such a throwback. Its still 1000000000000% times better than the song that won the Eurovision......

I remember seeing all the Air Tran 717s, the Northwest 747s, the old united blue tulip livery, and the Continental Airlines planes. I somehow remember seeing all the 747-400s operated by all of the Asian and European carriers. Those where the good times. :)

Look at the difference in the livery after all the years
I was kinda expecting the video to show where these PIA Queen's of the Sky ended up after they were sold. We know most went into Cargo service somewhere. However, if they are parked in Southern Arizona I would of like that photo too!

Good video, but there are some mistakes. The two liveries shown at 0:23 and 0:26 (the the light-blue and light green stripes under the belly) are NOT from 1977 and 1978, they are from the 1990s. The photo at 0:19 is labelled as 1977 and the same photo, slightly cropped, is shown again at 2:36 as 1994 - it is the latter. Likewise, the photo at 0:26 is labelled 1978 and again re-used at 2:45 and labelled 1995 - again the latter is correct.

Main difference between the B747-300 and B747-400 is that the 300 does not have the winglets!
The cockpit and engines were also different. The other 747 classics had no winglets as well tho.

You'll be surprised to hear this that the first 2 747 200bs were leased from tap air Portugal for 4 years but were purchased after the end of lease term ap ayv and ap ayw were first 2 747s out of the 14 the airline operated under its livery and management shockingly ap AYW was the first 747 delivered to tue carrier in 1979 the airline placed an order of 2 brand new 747200BMs to boeing company which were delivered by 1980 PIA later on in 1982 exchanged four DC1030s for 4 747200bs from CP air and in 1999 PIA leased 5 747300s to replace its 747200b fleet ( not the bms they remained in service with the carrier for more than 30years) in 2002 or 3 the carrier leased another plane from cathay Pacific and purchased all 6 aircraft from cathay pacific and were operated till 2015 and also operated a wetleased Air universal 747 200 in mid 2000s fro PIA express
