    I'm also a hobbyist+. I'm not yet proficient or prolific enough to be even semi professional, but I do have a small list of clients for whom I do commissions or to whom I pitch on spec. They use my work in various ways.
    My goal is to create original graphic novel works, either alone or in partnership. My intended audience is probably more YA or even older Juvenile, but I do whatever interests me at any given moment. Genres include drama, comedy, historical, fantasy, and sci-fi with a little light horror as well.
    There are lines I won't cross in terms of explicitness in adult content, but I do work within those limits for fun and for commission.

      @ I write science fiction and fantasy, often blending them together. Currently working on a fantasy piece that I started back in High School that deals with crossing worlds. It’s taken a more adult twist over the years, but it has ended up causing me to spend a lot of money on Daz Products over the last few years. I used to be a consumer of NSFW renders and art in general. Often getting annoyed at artists for their slow release rate. Then one day I saw a tutorial video for a free program called DAZ and thought, that looks easy, I can do that. Turns out I can do that, but it wasn't as fast or easy to make something that looks halfway decent as I thought. But I was hooked, been creating NSFW images, image series and a couple of comics for about 4-5 years. I recently passed the 200 mark on the number of renders I've released to the public. I've always aimed to make my images tell a story. In the last year or so I've started adding stories to my renders as I've found that I enjoy writing that as well. I've also in the last year or so, started making a bit cash from my patreon and subscribestar only 10-20$ but i does help offset some of the cost with the hobby. It's basically a creative outlet for me to write small stories and images and share them with the world.

    • @notfromthisworld7672
      @notfromthisworld7672  25 дней назад

      Thanks for the comment! I feel like our stories are very similar. I started using Daz for NSFW images because I thought the same thing as you. I've now made 1000's of images for comics. I use SubscribeStar as revenue but also to post updates and unique material to advertise my comics. Daz is fulfilling, but certainly not as easy as you think once you get into it.

    I was a hobbyist comic book artist looong time ago, and during several years I made, for fun and personal use, a series of science fiction comics, peppered here and there with a few spicy scene. 😈
    For a few years now I have begun, first with Poser and fairly recently with Daz, to "convert" my old paper works into "digital comic" and, who knows, someday, maybe, I could also continue the series where I left off. 😉

    Hey there, I use Daz strictly as a hobby and switched from Poser about 10 years ago. I like and use both characters and architecture in Daz and buy a lot from 3rd party places...anything where there is a sale, lol Started with G3 but moved to G8 and 8.1 quickly and do not use G9 at all, it's the worst Generation Daz has come out with IMHO, I am self taught by watching the many tutorials on YT and various other places. I know other programs as well with over 35 years experience in Autodesk AutoCad and Microstation. I plan to just stick to Daz as a hobby and always look forward to your next videos...not too many are making Daz videos these days so keep it going!

    Pure hobby and mostly just to find out how things work (and I often fail with that) or how does it look in a render (lighting I find still very difficult). Testing all sorts of prop items (e.g. airplanes) or figures (keeping to G8 still) with all their cloth, hairs etc. Building a complete scene takes much time, and animations are still a little beyond me. Essentially, this virtual 3D modelling has replaced my real plastic model hobby since kinda 10 years, ending up with a large stash of things I rarely use eventually ... I guess I am not the only one with that.

    This is a really good topic and I read with great interest what the followers write here.
    I use DAZ to create picture series for my stories, like a comic with comment speech bubbles. It's always about humor, playfulness, opaque eroticism, beautiful men and women and funny comments and situations. I pay attention to good taste and aesthetics. I want to make people laugh and I do it all for free because I enjoy it so much. It's a difficult topic and very demanding because it gets boring and flat very quickly. With DAZ I can quickly achieve the goals I have. But I would really like to work with Blender again because I can't always find the clothes I need for my characters. Thank you very much Sir!.. 😃

    I played around with the idea of making a visual novel. I also used it to make character pics for RPGs. But honestly, since the onset of generative AI taking over everything, I've had no creativity whatsoever. Primarily I just like making images, this has led me from poser back in the late 90's posting on renderosity, to Daz studio posting on DeviantArt, I go under the name Shedofjoy, most of my images are adult themed, but mainly just nudity. I do and have sold a fair few images and have done commissions, when time allows. I'm always trying to find better ways to produce better images, which is one of the reasons why I render using spectral in iray, as this does a far better job on skin. At some point I will do a comic, but I see that more as a labour of love, rather than to make money. Would love to know if there are other users of DA who watch these tutorials.

      Thanks for the comment. I was on DA for a while, but found that Adult-related themes were hard for me to post there because they are becoming more and more restrictive. I'll need to look into spectral rendering, as it sounds promising for characters! Thanks for mentioning that!

    For me it's a hobby. I mainly create pinups as individual pictures. Only in the last few months have I started to tell a continuous story with several pictures. I have a very broad range of themes. I do everything from normal everyday scenes to fantasy and science fiction. Mostly with beautiful women, of course. Some of my pictures are quite explicit and not suitable for every audience. As you said, there are many possibilities in the software and also a lot of content. You don't run out of ideas that quickly.

    Mainly adult content with some portraits thrown in, I'm retired so have plenty of time to mess around, I've just got started into cascadeur, I think animation is growing in popularity, I'm also dabbling in Hexagon to make my alterations to clothing and modelling. However, I spend a lot a of time sorting errors and things going bump in the night, but its one of things that once you get into it, it's hard to put down. I"m waiting to see if anyone is going to put up a new video explaining how to use Diffeomorphic to get into blender because blender has changed in the last two years, so adding Diffeomorphic has changed but there are no new video's for this. It is just a hobby for me. Mostly an outlet for the frustrated artist in me to actually tell a story. I do hear that people can make money using Daz, but I've never really understood how that is done. I am a grown up and do not begrudge you for doing 'adult' stuff. In this crazy world, whatever helps you survive is good, as long as nobody gets hurt or abused by it. Me, I am not interested in the 'adult' side of things, as the little I have seen looked kinda ridiculous to me. Not my thing. But I do respect your honesty in saying you do ( some cultural stigmas are kinda dumb). You are still creative, and very good with this software, and you explain things well, so that is why I am here.
    If I had any requests for you, I would ask you how you can make a comic/graphic novel/story. I've wondered about taking my renders into gimp and shrinking them down, putting them side by side, adding dialogue bubbles (or boxes in my case), and putting each page up on Deviant Art in sequence, and seeing if anybody likes it. Having something easier to use (where you can just click something to get the next page more easily) would work better, but I am not sure how to do that. And copy-rite rules and laws scare me a bit. So, in summary, how can you make a comic with this stuff? Its a big question, and you certainly do not have to do it immediately. But i would like it if you got around to it one of these days. No biggie. And I like what you do here! Good luck to you, and Stay Safe.🙂

      Thanks for the comment! I will show you how I create a graphic novel, or comic in an upcoming tutorial, no worries. I don't know if my way is the best, but I will certainly demonstrate how I approach a story. I appreciate your candor in discussing adult related content. It can be a touchy subject and I don't think Daz Studio would be bringing in revenue if I wasn't doing that type of content. My commissions are certainly risqué, but clients are willing to pay to fulfill their fantasies.

  • @azertagiop
    @azertagiop 25 дней назад +1

    Truthfully, I've always wanted to learn any kind of art medium to produce NSFW as I simply wanted to make things that, while nothing crazy, I had never seen made before.
    I thus turned myself towards 3D software and I would be using Blender by now had my computer back then been able to run it, so I ended up learning DAZ.
    I've put out many works, hoping to make a little money on the way, but what I do is not popular enough like, attracting to the majority. I have done works with this in mind and they did well but I'd feel like cheating myself if I made renders for popular reception rather than making what I like.
    That and the arrival and unstoppable improvements of generative AI have stripped me of my motivation.
    I've never considered myself an artist as I merely kitbash, barely edit textures, blend morphs and edit assets.
    But even though I use DAZ for NSFW, I guess I've obtained a skill, although I consider it rather useless for the reasons I've mentioned. It makes for a conversation starter I guess, until they ask to see my works.

    • @notfromthisworld7672
      @notfromthisworld7672  25 дней назад

      I think one of the tricks to creating NSFW content is to balance what people want, with what you like to create. I've done now many commissions and some of them were not what I had an interest in, which was okay for the money, but I struggled with the passion for those works. For example, I had one client that wanted the female character to be bald. Personally, I hate that look... so I simply create the comic with a bald version and then one I liked with hair. I think it is important to create what you like first!

    • @azertagiop
      @azertagiop 25 дней назад

      @@notfromthisworld7672 Oh but when it comes to commission I'm willing to do anything, (that won't make me puke doing it I guess). It's more to even reach a popularity where people will ask me for a commission in the first place. People will ask one artist in particular because said artist already does what they like, and if you don't make what people like in the first place they won't ask you.
