In my opinion the split happened because they never got a feature film made. I think Kevin wanted the film more than Lol. In the late 80s Rock musical films we're not happening. LC wanted to go back to being a working musician and he found a partner in Trevor Horn. Obviously Kevin Godley went back to making more videos. I suppose any partnership will run out of gas sadly these G+C did too. I wonder why they didn't try stage musicals since AL Webber did so well with Chess? I think this would have been a natural fit since it's sold on top 40 + Broadway...just a thought.
It’s a great song but sadly ironic that G&C left 10cc after the other 2 played them The Things We Do For Love and Godley said it was crap and they wanted to do more experimental music ….:and this and a few of their earlier hits were actually pop classics. Kevin did say (and Lol) in later interviews that they were too wrapped up in the Gizmo and they should have taken 6 months off to make consequences and then gone back to the band. 10cc were still good after they left but there was something missing the 2 duo’s of songwriters really played well off each other as Graham Gouldman said him and Eric were the pop songwriters the other 2 the disruptive art school kids and they both tweaked each others songs together they were magic! Those first 4 albums still sound great today! Does anyone know if there is this mythical 28 minute version of Une Night In Paris anywhere or was it cut down before recording? I have heard people say it’s out there but never seen anyone actually say they have it or have heard it.
The Goodbye Blue Sky was a dramatic departure from everything they'd previously done, but it's my favorite of theirs.
Do you like "crime and Punishment" & "10 thousand Angels" ?..
Wonderful song - nothing these two couldn't do.
That harmonica player is incredible!
One of the best songs ever 👍🏼
This my type of music
Consequences: Epic!
Epically epic!!
One of my favourite albums as an harmonica player myself. I love it.

This was the end of G&C after 20 years writing hits.
perfect live

It was a creative marriage that ended. Such was their commitment to the partnership that once ended, they had to walk away.
Stage musicals are an interesting thought. "An Englishman In New York" sounds as if it's come straight out of a Broadway musical.
lol was hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥
our very own paul simon & art garfuncle no less

Ironically sounds like the other two that were left in 10cc
Wonder if they have any contact at all these days
Don't think so.
12, 15 years earlier, would Elvis have covered that?
Yes... Reminds me of elvis presley... G&C are genius
