In 2023, I was very ill and nearly died. That year and last year were all about recovery. This year, I am focused on building strength. I am so much healthier than I was. It's a tremendous accomplishment. Now, I am choosing to get stronger. Part of that is because I want to be strong enough to help others in the likely difficult days ahead. (From the U.S. where things are looking a bit dire.)
Oh, I forgot, Happy New Year Lia. Looking forward to another year of chatting and learning from you. I'm glad that you're making some new friends, I'm happy for you. ❤I know you like adventure, have you ever thought about swimming between two tectonic plates in Iceland, I believe it's the only place in the world where you can do that. It's on my bucket list.
Love the books you recommended! Ableism is default in a world that is not built for everyone so I get what you mean. One of the best gentle but really mind blowing books I read about ableism is Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justice by Leah Lakshmi! It broke my brain, and i think about it at least once a week --
As a more hopeful and positive climate book, I would recommend Not the End of the World by Hannah Ritchie, though I'm not sure if there is a German translation yet. I think you'd enjoy it. Happy New Year! :)
Thank you for the Recommendation! I do like to read english books too (just the library has almost only german ones) but it's good to know for anyone who prefers a german (or other language) version 😊
Adding on: ‘serrated’ comes from Latin’s ‘serratus’ which means notched like a saw. So serrated can be used to describe anything with that notched shape… like knife blades or leaves! 🍁
Lia, Good to see you again. First of all we wish you a Happy New Year. We thought you were looking more than a little pale so are worried whether or not you are unwell. Hope all is well anyway! Take care.

Oh, your grandma made it? You're lucky to have her. I used to love my grandma so much when I was a kid, many decades ago.
Hello Lia I love your sweater!! Are you still knitting? ❤
Happy new year Lia 🎉🎉🥳🥳🙂

I just put it on hold 😁
Did you knit that jumper yourself? It's lovely.
FYI because I know you like to know these things, lol! The knife edge in English is called a serrated knife.

Yes, always interesting to know, thank you both! 😊
Wait, how many hours a day are you reading?
Lea its funny because my husband and son got both pocket knives this christmas
You should write a book.
Happy new year
🥰

Sehr ungewohnt, wenn du Deutsch sprichst. 😂
