This is sadly a case where some nation doesn't understand a symbol that has deep meaning in the heart of a people.

Rising sun design is symbol of Amaterasu-goddess of shinto. No body knows how old time it began. May be more than 2000 years ago. Any way it means vivid and happiness and congratulation. Where ever you go, the sun means happy. Or Koreans not?

たしかに旭日旗は戦争中も使われたけど日本で古くからお祝いに使われていたのは事実。相手の文化を否定しケチをつけるべきではないと思う
