Very comprehensive trailer breakdown! This looks like it's going to be a fun season. Love the Bowie music, love the Doctor's t-shirts and leather jacket, love the butterfly gag (I suspect, as you said, it'll just be briefly played for laughs, rather than be an episode-long plot point), love Ruby's Bridgerton reference, love the look of Crazy Music Lady (that's what I'm going to call her until we learn her actual name!). Counting down the weeks until it begins!
The shot of the TARDIS looking like an old monument reminds me of Wild Blue Yonder, when 14 wonders what might happen to the TARDIS if it doesn’t come back.
I'm wondering about the series going back and forth over Ruby's timeline. They included a fair bit of footage from the Church on Ruby Road, including that shot where the Doctor appears to catch the glass falling off the table. That was, I think, a case of the Doctor going back to create an important event that would bring him and Ruby together, and if he didn't travel back, he got upstairs from the dancefloor damnably quick!
Oooo that’s very true. A bit like 11th Doctor leading Amy out of that forest in series 5. We only learn then that it’s a later version of him from that point in time.
I suspect the stepping on a butterfly sequence will turn out to be a dream/hallucination, similar to when the sleep patches were used on Clara when she intended to drop the Tardis keys into the volcano to force the doctor to bring back Danny Pink..
@@andykey78 ahhhh that does make more sense. Unfortunate coincidence that there was also a clip of the Doctor falling amongst some ropes in the same trailer 😄
I'm wondering if Jinx has shown Ruby her possible calm and safe future without the danger of the Doctor, to persuade her to leave him... Reminds me of the episode where Rory & Amy had to figure out which reality was real, , the pregnant Amy in a cosy village or the out of control Tardis..
S TRIAD Technology could be linked to Mrs Flood saying something like 'Fancy not knowing what a TARDIS is' perhaps? Is the time changing theme of this series linked to TARDIS technology and time travel becoming generally available, hence lots of individuals out there messing about with reality? Could also be linked to the Meddling Monk rumours, perhaps 'he' thinks it's a fun idea if everybody has it, not just a couple of the Higher Species.
talking about what you said about them seeing the devastation in their episode 2 outfits, could the butterfly effect moment from episode 1 be set up, reminding the audience of the concept, for them accidentally doing a worst butterfly effect during the 60s which they have to spend the rest of the series trying to fix?
That makes sense. I wonder if they might resolve it in the following episode though. Otherwise how would they get back to un-devastated modern day England for the finale?
I’m excited for this season But the biggest red flag I got was the fact that SOMEONE was singing. I know RTD has said there are more songs to be sung… But if Goblin King was a preview of what it was. And the song sung was an old popular song. Then chances are this season is partially a Jukebox Musical…
I think we’re getting a singular musical episode with loads of songs rather than singing throughout the season… and I’m here for it. Love a musical episode me. Would hope it’s original songs rather than jukebox though. Goblin song wasn’t a cover was it. Certainly not the lyrics which were specifically about the plot, or do you mean the tune? Was that! 🤔
Not straight away no. I did think “that woman looks familiar” though. Once someone pointed it out to me I was “ahhh of course” I’ve seen her as a talking head on many documentaries on DVDs 😄 nice cameo
