Is the back panel important? Our wall outlets would be located behind those when i put it against the wall, so planning to remove the back panel so there is space for the plugs

I have a question about the Hemnes TV unit that I can't find the answer to anywhere else. Could you possibly tell me the height of the console slots? For some reason that dimension is left off of the specs, and I'm desperate!

It would keep some dust out of the drawers, at a minimum. But structurally important I doubt it.
