The ones who don't like don't understand it IMO. That's not their fault. PLTR is a closed platform. The ones like me who've seen it up close and/or are actively building on it seem to love it. Why? Because it makes hard things easy, and the impossible attainable. That's the simplest way I can summarize the love affair.
I wish you would repeat your analysis re: most companies don't even use the full breadth of many systems they purchase. Karp is smart for sure and highly unlikeable too. But I think he is partnering with these spacs to show functional use cases per sales vertical. The software might be awesome. But it might be too awesome for c levels to swallow the price or understand and too awesome that the engineers want to keep their jobs.
Yeah San Ramon I can understand your feeling that's one of the things I believe could be an issue. Let's see how they address this moving forward this year. Thanks CodeStrap for chiming in. It definitely is a black box for most folks who haven't used it. But from the demos it's pretty evident the level of detail and functionality achieved.
Me, CodeStrap, Kris Patel, Sean from Invest to Live to name a few creators.. Plus startups in the spacs.. there Reddit threads explaining the great experience from users
@@kubricksghost6058 hey no problem. CodeStrap is the most technical and explains the internals better. He actually has contacted and seen / used the product first hand.

What is the likelihood of Palantir integrating chat/email functions into the products? how much would that help engineers and downstream users of applications?
This might be something they can do but won't because it might not be needed and nobody would buy it to differentiate. See the issue with Palantir isn't the need to make new product.. it's to sell their current "too good to be true" product
The PLTR community has such engineer bias. Many of the engineers I've sold software to are not interested in implementation of new systems EVEN if it makes their life easy. They are collecting checks keeping their jobs safe by knowing the systems, quirks and code. This platform will take such a long sales cycle at c-level to bypass the engineer bias and self preservation of their jobs.
This seems like a likely perspective from the 'sales' side, particularly when a company is young. Too much engineer bias, and the focus drifts. However, too little bias, and you end up with less innovation. If you look back at the early winners e.g. AMZN, GOOG, AAPL, FB, MSFT, etc., one could have easily made similar arguments. The balance between 'sales' and 'development' is always a tug of war. Whenever I hear "working closely with sales/marketing" I know well what that means . Nevertheless, I'll thank you for the contribution from your side. :-)
Allow me to preface with LOL. This product does the exact opposite. If you can build a platform that allows users to interact with data without the need to do any large amount of development work, then you're getting rid of developers. I think the majority of developers (90%) want to finish a project and move to a next one or take a break (because working with C-level is exhausting and the constant communication and "sync"-meetings and "plan A, plan B, plan C, plan D" meetings are just a waste of time. Maybe there are, 10% of developers who want to keep their paychecks safe, but I bet those are few people. Just look at people changing jobs and see how much they care about "stability". Indeed, if they get a better offer they will move to a different company, but there are very few developers who join a company and try to milk it forever. At some point, all of the politics get to you and you're looking for a way out. This happens way more often than people think and it's the nature of the market and the way the IT world does business.
I told my wife that I love Palantir and invested our life savings in the foundry platform. She told me I better stop playing and better have foundry her money. She'll come around.
Any other engineers you can add to the RUclips community - on RUclips I only see you and Codestrap? What's the other public place where non engineers can see engineers crushing on Palantir?
Palantir stand-alone will roll horizontally until maybe it's govt and corp r split then bought and bundled with O, G, M or A's exiting suite. Sales cycles last 3 years and they are just hiring. This is a long long long term bust IMO. Stay away even if it's the best product.

I guess it also really depends how well its integrated in the current system and how its hosted for speed etc.
Love the colours and style of the thumbnails are eye catching

Find the engineers that do not like Palantir!! We need to hear contrast perspective.
Yeah fair enough. I'd love to hear it and I'm sure they have good reasons too
Are there any?
Enjoyed your commentary on the of life of engineers, I was laughing along the way...

Man for me it was usually Ken but in the newer ones I go Akuma or Vega

Very nice perspective!! Engineers can tell if a product is good or not, Palantir could improve in sales but selling is way easier than building
Arny!! Thanks for stopping by man
Tesla was same thing back in the days
Ooh Tesla had some good things back then. I remember from the middle stage during the mid 2010s
Preach!
