I talked to a friend of mine (developer with over 15 years experience). When I shared with him this info, his first question was: are you sure they’re telling the truth because this is like sci-fi. Like crazy!! He acted the same way Cyberfam reacted at the end. He asks how can he access it. I asked: if what they’re saying is correct, could they be the next Google. He said YES! I’ll chat with him this weekend to debrief what he learned after 2 weeks of digging more into this
seriously its like magic if it can do that dynamically.. im talkin with CodeStrap to see how things are but even at the worst case its a better integrated version of Azure DevOps + AWS provisioning! I dont mind that since nobody else is in that space other than the incumbents!

What is the difference between that and Netsuite or Salesforce applications? What I mean is that there is already platform where you code for a particular sandbox environment and everything is already managed for you. Or is it more like heroku? What is different in Palantir case?
Hey yeah good question.. I think that Salesforce would have a good foot in as they also have a digital twin to offer. Depends on the license you have though. It could have some similarities to Heroku but without the strong config types. So might be more lose and flowing based on main code. Heroku is also limited as it's a web server augmentation.. this could be helping spin up data pipelines .. so something that helps automatically spin up EMR clusters without specifying the root configs. Just speculating.. but that's what I'm hoping for. It would increase time to dev & prod. Let's see once I get more info from CodeStrap

This remains me a little of Cold Fusion twenty years ago vs. MS coding. Where MS coding required anywhere from 10 to 100 lines of code compared with Cold Fusion. I can believed these advances.

Kind of an unrelated question but for someone such as myself who started off a career in consulting as a Functional Analyst (SAP specifically) and is trying to make a switch to a more technical role such as a software engineer, how would you recommend that I make that switch? What steps/courses would I have to take to ready myself for an actual career in tech?
Hey thanks! Ok so this is a loaded question a little. I'm always honest so hopefully you can read between the lines here.. but "Software engineer" is generic. If you want to code, then it's pretty easy just make a small app or website using React or android / iOS. There are tutorials that can get you there. Then use those principles to apply for a new technical role. I would say start within your company. One issue, the front line engineer is being Saturated by a huge margin! So even after u put in the work, it's likely your pay won't get better and it will stagnate. I would take the approach of doing engineering for a company for a few years then immediately switch to some kind of higher level in the chain role. So like a PM or systems admin. Or build & release. But if you're good you can get paid well. Hope this helped. Feel free to message me anytime to ask or clarify, glad to help where possible

Point being, the free market dictates price and the stock price is an indicator of market sentiment. Just because you have knowledge doesnt mean you have the currency or should receive the currency that reflects that knowledge. Not sure what your point was with that.

Will Pltr become ubiquitous? if so, then, hell yeah, I can see this as a 500 dollar stock.
No ur right.. it's 100% an enterprise platform that is more specific. Google has these too but they're worth so much because they have a multi faceted approach to products. Palantir is narrow but this used case is widening in the future.. so in this way they have a first movers advantage.. But the question is how much will it broaden and how can these people successfully sell something people don't realize they need

But the whole point I was trying to make was about the fact that there are so many different tech and people involved in the OPS layer that it can add un needed complexity. Azure devops and GCP Spinnaker/code come close and want to solve the right problems.. but they suffer from the issue that they are a functional piece rather than something that is designed to provide results. The incumbents (cloud providers) have platforms that are mainly designed around selling compute. Foundry here from what was said looks like its trying to augment parts of this which could cause major increases in efficiency and shorter time to prod. Big Tech can do all this they just dont because what they have suits the model and people pay for it! Also, not sure what you're talking about.. AWS sucks. They only exist mainly because of FOMO, startup credits or because of sunk costs fallacy. Azure is doing a decent job and GCP is very underrated. AWS has like 200 features that where a lot of them do similar things! Cloud is great but its just a foundation, it SHOULD be stable and not evolve every 10 seconds. GCP is trying to address this in a better way. Also, elasticsearch is great man.. im assuming when you are talkin about costs, you are referring to elastic cloud? I never use that, I ALWAYS spin up my own clusters using OSS versions.. I would suggest you try that, it is like orders of magnitude cheaper and you own all the code..
