Eastern Meadowlark Portait

- Footage of a singing Eastern Meadowlark gathered at the Bradford Farm Experimental Station (University of Missouri) near Columbia, Missouri. I particularly like the second clip, which is a study in browns. The whistled song of the male has been likened to the phrase "Spring Of The Year".

Nature hating trolling Trump supporter of course.
That Eastern Meadowlark is sooooo cute and chunky!
I was lucky enough to catch a flock of these late in the evening last summer in northern Michigan. I pulled over on the side of the road and the field next to my car exploded with two dozen or so Meadowlarks. They slowly flew to other grass, posts and short trees nearby but kept singing. It was a wonderful experience.
P.S. Love hearing the Dickcissel in the background as well!
Flicking through videos of the meadowlark with my wife until finally I get to yours and say, "THAT'S what I hear on my walk" (on the West central MN prairie).

@@ncbv9 Yes, correct. Both are beautiful birds.
Northern Bobwhite, Red-wing Blackbird, Northern Cardinal, and female Meadowlark songs too?
i remembers these when i was a aboy. where did all the meadowlarks go?
Farming causes habitat loss for this species. And also lack of grassy areas for them to nest.
is this the inspiration of Brubeck quartet?
canto de bagero
Tall white sounds
