This is awesome man! Thanks for making this :)
You bet!
This is really a great idea. Thanks so much for sharing. The only thing I would do a bit differently is cut the baseplates with a straight edge razor. Makes the cuts cleaner and quicker.
Definitely would help! Appreciate the feedback on it!
This idea is genius. The whole reason I simultaneously love LEGO and hate DIY is that I am grossly clumsy and dislike using tools for that reason. This is something even I can make. You had me practically cheering when you said that the cutting doesn’t have to be perfect. 😂
Appreciate the feedback! Hopefully I come across simple DIYs to share with everyone!
use shears instead of scissors it might be a bit easier
Thats ace dude, cant believe how inexpensive the frames are!
Wow very interesting Im looking for a way to display my mini fig collection I have 16 waves guess I will need a lot 🤣
Naww I ain't gonna cut one. I'll just build my own frame and use plexiglass
I’ve watched back and I can’t understand how you attach them. But the idea is amazing!
I was looking for a way to display miniature builds from the advent calendars. This looks like an ideal way to do so.
Thanks!
This is great thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the feedback!
Please provide this newbie with the part numbers for the pieces necessary for the stand. Thanks!
I have went ahead and put the pieces used in the video description but will reply with them as well!

Damn, this is a very great idea! Thanks!
No problem! :)
Loved this . I’m trying to figure out how to do a frame for my Lego advent calendar set
Hopefully this helped a bit!
Gutes Video Danke .würde nur die Baseplate mit einem Teppichmesser schneiden. Sonst Top sehen cool aus. Grüße aus Deutschland
Greetings from California, thank you for the tip! That would have definitely made it easier, I'll use that for the next project video that I'll do! 😁
Only problem I see for me each mystery figs collection have 16 figs I see in your cases 12 figs can fit 😢🤔🤔
I might do an update on a new version of this that would hold more minifigures. It will require new pieces being used though.
Cool
Thats cool
Thank you!
I think the idea of trimming the edges of the baseplate is fantastic, and it's brilliant that it doesn't even have to be cut cleanly! What I'm not so fond of is the background for the figures, which appears a bit busy due to the Lego studs. I would prefer a smooth, monochrome surface, even though the studs are, of course, incredibly practical.
I would recommend to cover the studs with some tile pieces to get a smooth finish! Definitely will give you a cleaner look!
lay a piece of paper or something over the baseplate and cut holes in it to reveal the studs where you will place the minifigures
This comes down to a matter of taste. The genius in the design is that once the baseplate is cut and placed in the frame you can customize the whole thing just like one would do with a regular LEGO set.
Looks great. How many studs deep are the frames?
From the white baseplate to the plastic glass, it’s about 5 studs deep. Hope this helps!
Very helpful -- thanks@@mazbrickz !
Great video. I was sceptical cutting the plate but when you don't see rough edges I would try it.
Could you please provide the part numbers for the parts to mount them? I am a newbie to Lego so I may search forever.
I'm going to make a newer updated video on a sturdier piece to use. Take a look - ID 6250020/41682. It's a vertical piece that does the job way better. You can search it on LEGOs website on the Pick a Brick section! Hope this helps!
@@mazbrickz Thanks for the quick reply. That part looks great and solid. Have to find a nice part to put my figures on (especially R2-D2), the 2x1 seems a bit narrow.
Understandable! I think attaching additional plates like a 2x4 for support would help and act like an extension and give you more room than just the 2x1.
@@mazbrickz Yes, that may help. Will have a closer look on the Lego website tomorrow and maybe visit the Lego store in Frankfurt on the weekend.
Apologies on delay for the pieces used, hope this still helps!
