OMG, I can't believe what an amazing job you did restoring my favorite boots! You even made the heel look like the original. I've worn them hard, as you can tell, but they look even better than new now. I love the red thread and coloring on the leather. I can't wait to wear them again.
Steve, I got a Bedo's watchig marathon here.....my mom is a seamstress and I would sit watching her work for hours when she was making a garment. I do'nt know what its, but I can watch people work for hours and not get bored...BETTER THAN A MOVIE FOR ME... I LOVE WATCHING YOU WORK!
Steve it's easy to tell that your so proud of your Dad being a shoe maker. You go on to say not like me just a cobbler . Steve your a first class cobbler, a true artist . I've no doubt your viewers would say the say .
Oh if you are a crocs fan can you tell me why they don’t do their inner soles for sneakers 👟, had to buy new sneakers because no soles like that in market.
Cutting away the lug sole also gives the stitching protection from getting abraded by the ground. It’s totally an awesome technique and overlooked in way too many factory shoes that don’t even create a channel for the thread (looking at you Red Wing and Wolverine 1000 Mile). Awesome work as always Steve.
It's great to see you have a young tradesmen working with you, there is so much he can learn from you. He will make a great cobbler for you and hopefully someday for his own business
We need more of this in the world, people with passion for their craft, creating a circular system so every thing gets repaired and reused, and people to start investing in the long term.
Great restoration as usual, better than new. Thanks for the tour, you have a beautiful shop and most importantly, a beautiful family. Ora puoi tornare a casa e goderti del buon cibo italiano.... "Now you can go home and enjoy some good Italian food".
Steve, I totally get it. You give people back their much loved possessions in a state far superior to if they'd just gone out and bought new ones. Possessions become like old friends and are worth everything to their owners. Thank you for what you do so brilliantly.
Steve..... The King of Cobblers. I just bought a pair of Alden Indy boots. Love them. I know this is stupid, but I’m anxious to wear them out, so I can watch you fix them....

I love the look of Vibram lug soles with stitching, I've wanted to get that done with my boots when I finally get them resoled. Good job as always Steve!
Hey Steve! Always a pleasure watching and learning from u. As I have said many times, it would be a gr8 to be there and apprentice from u...problem is, I’m an old man now! Being 66 I don’t have enough years to learn and become an expert like u. So I shall watch and learn from the master. Thank you 🙏🏻 sir!
Another absolutely MAGNIFICENT redo!!!! I think they’re probably better now then brand new!!! Your artistry and craftsmanship is just second to non, it’s no wonder you have all those awards to display. If I lived anywhere near your store I would be bugging the crap out of you to just watch and TRY to absorb some of the incredible talent you have. TYFS!!!!!
I cannot tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Really. I look forward to viewing your world and watch a master craftsman repair/restore better than new. You have actually helped me in my tiny little leather craft hobby. (products to use). Thank you so much Steve. I wish you all the success and health in the world (you and your family).
I have say it before and I will say it again YOU ARE THE BEST, with due respect to others cobblers i have seen in youtube and I like their work but to me YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST Thats why I subscribe to your channel and can't wait for your next video.
Steve! I love the videos, commentary and the superb craftsmanship of your work. Don’t let the haters putcha down, Screw’em. Keep doing what your doing...keeping it real!
A repair lottery sounds good😊 I have a pair of well worn florsheim imperials, I would like to get dainite soles on, because here it rains 200 days a year. But it would also be fun to have you repair a personal item together with a winner. So they would have a hands on experience and maybe take even bigger pride in that item
U deserve all the best sir! Thank you Steve...this is very touching to see and hear the years given to make a quality product. Wish I could have met ur grandparents and dad! U are the man Steve! I know u are proud! And u should be!
Fantastic shop tour! If everyone could have a job they enjoy in a space filled with their heart and soul, like you have here! This is a nice place for the pursuit of happiness!
I wish all cobblers had the same quality control. Ive had some appalling work done over the years. Your work is always top shelf Steve. Those boots look brilliant.
They look awesome, I would rather pay to repair old shoes as most shoes made 20 yrs ago are far better quality than the asian knock offs available today, you do great work and love your blogs.
Ah, I get it!! You restore shoes/boots/leather goods to 'better-than-they-were-originally' not because it's cost-effective necessarily; as many of the items could be purchased again than less than the cost of the refurbishment; rather, the shoe, bags, boots etc have sentimental value to the customer beyond the monetary value placed solely on the material cost of the goods...... Ah, I get it :-) Apologies for all the times in the past I've commented on how much the restoration costs without thinking of the other value attributed to the item. Good video. Tony x
Man that's gunna be even nicer than it was with the open floor plan . I do construction for a living sounds like u are going to do some also haha wish I could come and help . Can't wait for the other subs to get on board this is a great channel and you are an awesome host/educator thank you for another great vid.
I think installing a Goodyear welt and leather soles on a pair of crocks is a great showcase of talent. The impossible takes a little bit longer than normal.
That's one of the nicest and honest boots I have seen refurbed. I understand why people want dress shoes done for extended life but a boot with a quality leather upper can last decades. I have a pair of Dr Martens 8 hole which I have had for over 20 years and had resoled twice and they are brilliant. My only gripe is the last company to resole them used something called a 'leather iron' to try and improve the appearence of the uppers but it also removed a lot of character. Will just have to sepend time putting the creases back.
I was always curious about the interior of your shop.......looks like a FANTASTIC place to work and create better than original projects........love your shows.........Howdy from Branson Missouri !
One of the FEW channels I sub to that I'm comfortable liking the videos before I even watch. Best cobbler/leathersmith on the planet, hands-down. My favorite shoe is ALSO Florsheim Imperials (pre outsourcing era) but I know I'll never find a pair before they started sourcing to India, especially in 14 D haha!
Love the transformation... not convinced on the whole lug cut-away treatment though. I'd probably like it more on a shoe, rather than a boot. The shop tour is much appreciated. Big difference in the appearance of the uppers. Nicely done.
More than just for appearances, it prevents the stitching from wearing through. These boots were stitched through the lugs originally, and I wore through them within a month.
Great job! Great video. I'm just starting out on my quality boot purchasing. So I've been trying to do my due diligence; exploring and gaining knowledge of what exactly makes a quality boot. I'm always intrigued by the people who make and repair the items like knives and axes, saddles and boots and leather jackets and all the amazing tools that they use. Thanks for taking the time to let us in.
Hi Steve, I could never afford the type of shoes you restore, many of your repairs are over $ 400.00 and my best part of the shoes (Pikolinos) cost around $ 150.00 new, so ... I just really enjoy what you do. Best. Octavio.
Wow that shop is Awesome I could just smell the leather from here, and all the pictures of your family, just lovely, another great job done on those wonderful looking boots, quality work Steve as always :)
It looks unorganized but everything is where it's supposed to be (Love that) Hats off to you Steve Loved the tour super cool ~~ Best in the biz you are Thanks for the vids
Yeah, I think people forget about the fact that at the end for 400 $, you get not only your favorite pair of shoes back, but you get them better than they were when they were brand new. Yes, you can get a new pair for 400 $, but would this new pair also include the same quality and the sentiment?
And to some degree, I must assume a quality boot keeps the shape you've worked up the last 20 years? Not to undergrave the sentimental aspect, because I totally see that.
@@basstrammel1322 That's it too, even though they look brand new and are better quality now than when they were, they're still molded to my feet and feel great.
Steve, I am a impressed with your work. You remind me of my father, who I have helped countless times in his shop. Keep the great attitude and master craftmanship coming!
Steve, you're so masterful! Your shop is very cool! It has a comfy and inviting feel, just like one's favorite pair of shoes! Another fantastic video, as always! Lisa
I have already one item that I am preparing in case I win, close to my heart in a way. But hey I am premature probably but always keep the faith. Loved the tour in your shop, it has soul to it and those items around you breath history. I saw your granddad wearing a Turkish Fez, I guess Armenia was a part of the Turkish empire? I come from Serbia and we drink the coffee the way you drink it/make it. We call it Turkish coffee. Nice to see all the history there in your shop, and also a view in your soul. Greetings from the Netherlands where I have been living for 44 years now. Keep safe and keep on moving!
Yes, Armenia was part of the Turkish empire. The Armenian Genocide near the end of that time period, and the modern state of Armenia is only a fraction of the territory historically inhabited by Armenians. Just as the Holocaust destroyed most of Europe's Jewish population, so the Armenian Genocide led to the loss of many historical Armenian lands and communities.
An excellent job as usual, yet I wish many of the steps not in the video had been shown. I simply enjoy watching every step that you perform on a repair.

They look good! I really enjoy that specific style of boot.

Oh if you are a crocs fan can you tell me why they don’t do their inner soles for sneakers 👟, had to buy new sneakers because no soles like that in market.
Threadie good, don’t buy crocs they don’t sell soles for their shoes 🙁

The stitching went through the lugs on these boots originally, and it wore through very quickly. I knew Steve would do it right.
Brady Begeman My only peeve about Fryes
Brady Begeman What Red Wing boots have stitching thru the sole?
Maximous999 the heritage line.
It is great to see boots made with corners cut be worn down and Steve remade it better than new. Great work as usual

All Armenians must be proud of having such a talented cobbler, Stepan! Great job, again!
All armenians are proud of the Kardashians too, I hope! If not for looks, reputation, or money, they really nailed the marketing of their brand.
@@basstrammel1322 I think the Kardashians are rather controversial in Armenia due to Kim's extramarital affairs.
