И вот когда я, совершенно случайно, посмотрел это видео... О Боже, оказывается я занимаюсь ерундой! Я поражен вашей работой! Понятия не имел, насколько это сложный, многоэтапный, требующий большого мастерства, художественных навыков и вкуса ТРУД! Мое уважение, браво.

you can still find people like this in America, I have and I still go to a shoe maker. I bring my boots in once a month for a rubbed on seal. Yes I can do it but hey the guy charges 7 bucks so why not. I get them back in a day no big deal. But you are correct people do not care about anything but how fast they can have them.
You Sir are a true Old World Craftsman. This was a total surprise watching you rebuild a pair of boots. I thought I would watch for a couple of moments and here I still sit watching till the end. The years of dedication and outstanding skills are very apparent in the work you do. It is really wonderful to see a craftsman ply his trade in this modern throw everything away world we live in. I agree totally. It is always a pleasure to see craftsmen exhibit their work. We live in such a disposable world and at moments like this it is truly refreshing to know all that knowledge not all is lost.

Whoever owns those are lucky, they are 10 times better. They will last for many years. I love how he added the rubber bedding to protect it from the water. These are made so solid now. Work of art, talented too. Amazing! Thanks for sharing the video.
Wow!!! Unbelievable master craftsman. This is a true artist at work. I would take all my shoes to this dude for repair and never have to buy new shoes again. We need tradespeople and craftsmen/women back in our lives. We don't need more retail cashiers, we need people trained to do work in their hometown and have services available where we live, not junk sent over in container ships.
After 10 years and maybe 1 resole, you’ve spent less than someone buying lesser quality boots over the same period. I window shopped these for many years and finally bit the bullet. Worn the same pair to work 8 yrs now and they still look great. I looked at it as an investment for my feet. I mostly shop the clearance rack at Kohl’s so it was a stretch to buys them, but well worth it to me.
I always wondered why hand crafted shoes are so expensive, now I know !!!! They really take too much effort and deserve every single penny for the efforts put in the making a pair of good shoe.... thanks for video.

Wow, well done Sergy! отличная работа !! I spent a decade designing in the leather accessories business and our 3rd generation leather craftsman could never do this job! They liked making wallets, purses, belts + sandals... the easy items. But the grandfather could craft + repair boots!! He grew up handcrafting old school stingray + snake skin cowboy boots in Tijuana Mexico for local ranch workers ... could his son and grandsons do this job?! no f#cking way! ( they all said they could make boots but they couldn't) This really is a lost art form. PLEASE teach young people to carry on this tradition!! I wish I knew how to do this.

Потом поменял профиль работы, а клиенты не хотели отпускать, если можно так сказать. Вот и пришлось у себя на участке сделать пристройку к дому и поставить всё оборудование и сделать мастерскую. Так же как Вы в свободное время изготавливаю обувь. Цену не назначаю, т.к. это увлечение, но люди сами понимают, что индивидуальная обувь, да ещё в единственном экземпляре стоит хороших денег. I have seen many videos on boot making and this is the first one that I have seen where 90 to 95% of the work was done by hand! This is absolutely amazing work! Bootfury, any working man who understands that the quality of the boots he wears is of paramount importance to his work life would be proud to wear your boots, I sir am one of those men.

I made my own pair of boots from scratch, including the lasts and push awl for the welt. The same exact method he used here, but I had to hand stitch everything on mine. One of the toughest parts was getting the front toe of the vamps to fold evenly over the front toe of the bottom of the last to nail them down in place. But they matched perfectly when I was done and that is primarily because I spent the time on making my lasts, they seem to be the most important part of building a good shoe. I wasn't taught how to do this, I learned from watching some videos years ago, but I'm also an artist and Craftsman. But in doing this, I gained a lot of respect for the master Craftsman who do this everyday.
Wow....what a craftsman....I hope we never lose these guys...if there's ever a collapse these fellows will help rebuild us....on a lighter side, this bought back some childhood/young adult memories....we always had shoes resoled and heeled up until mid 70's I'm guessing.....I especially liked getting a pair of Florsheim's reworked....they felt better than original if you got a good cobbler....I haven't seen a shoe shop in ages? Again, to the craftsman....amazing work....beautiful boots.....thank you for sharing....

for those of us old enough to remember what craftsmanship is (or at least was!), we respect it. kids now aren't likely to appreciate it simply because they're not likely to experience it. it's a trade-off. we don't take our shoes to a cobbler because it's cheaper to buy a new pair. same thing with t.v.'s and computers and clothes. the trade-off comes in the idea that cobblers and repairmen don't drive the economy, buying new product does. so, we've given up a lot of our craftsmen to be able to sell millions of pairs of shoes, lowering the price of the product and providing work/economies. it's ironic and somewhat sad, but maybe necessary, too. redwings are already expensive, but imagine how much they'd cost were a cobbler's services a fraction of the price of a new pair. redwing would have to triple the price to make up for lost sales! that's great if you're a cobbler, not so great if you're the guy wearing them and needs them fixed monday for work. meanwhile, another work boot company steps in with a decent quality at a far lower price.... you get it. but, that's how it goes ~ we put craftsmen out of work so that we can employ thousands of people in their place.
These kinds of craftsman videos are so hard to stop watching. So captivating, even though I’ll probably never repair my own shoes. But I do have a pair of keens to bring down to the local cobbler to fix. And now I just want him to make them better then they were.
I hope whomever is reviving these beautiful boots deserves them. And to the master craftsman who made them, WOW.... just WOW!!! You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your remarkable talent.

This was my grandfathers trade. i watched this in fascination, remembering the long-forgotten memories of him toiling over someones favorite shoes. i wish I could have read the text to better understand the process.

Я из Бразилии, и сегодня здесь так же трудно, как это искусство сапожника, люди хотят зарабатывать деньги просто и быстро, тогда они отказались от всего, что работает, и сфокусировались на искусстве джейтиньо, и если им не нравился спрос другой, мой дедушка был сапожником, но я не имел удовольствия встретиться с ним и увидеть, как он работает, но я имел удовольствие видеть, как ты работаешь, и я видел его видео от начала до конца, действительно очень хорошее, умение добавлено к качеству и этому искусству не умирай.

Тоже самое подумал во время просмотра этого видео, уважение к данной профессии значительно повысилось. Не считал их алкоголиками, но низкоквалифицированными рабочими всегда считал, где особых навыков не нужно, и идут в эту профессию не от хорошей жизни, низкообразованные люди. Извиняюсь, пересмотрел своё мнение по отношению к данной профессии!
This amount of manual labor/craftsmanship would cost $500+ if it were done in the USA. This is the type of crafts person that would do well if he worked for Red Wing. Hand stitching the out sole to the last is insane.
Not really red wing directly has a Premium Repair Package for all their heritage line of boots for $125 usd which covers all of the things covered in this video from the resole to replacing the cork layer and reconditioning the top and they will throw in a can of their leather conditioner as a bonus.
Jacob Haver , He’s not only repairing the boots but also strengthened the boots by adding additional rubber inner and bottom soles to suit his customer demand who want it to be tougher on wet weather conditions. I don’t know if this particular job can be done on the redwings premium heritage repair.

Короче, мне 33 года, в очередной выходной подбуханный я смотрю ролики по ютюбу и случайно попадаю на этот ролик, я открываю его на весь экран, после 5 минут просмотра и уже смотрю не отрываясь до конца. Я вообще далёк от обуви и как её чинить и вообще этим не интересовался, но видимо эта космическая мелодия, хоть и зацикленная просто погружает в транс и конечно, самое главное что удивляет - это полная отречённость работе, видно что человек не просто делает свою "работу", а я уверен был на половине ролика, что это просто его хобби было, настолько он увлечённо, профессионально и с любовью подходит к делу, тут я могу вспомнить разве что бабушкины пирожки, вот примерно с такой же любовью он это делает. Увидев цену новой пару этих ботинок (25-35 тыс. рублей), досмотрев видео, почему то хочется сказать фразой, старого, советского фильма "Человек-Амфибия", когда он расплатился всеми деньгами отца:" -Сумасшедший миллионер!". Что мне подсказывает, что работа по ремонту этой обувки вышла ровно, если не дороже новой пары! Снимаю шляпу перед таким мастером и надеюсь это видео увидят приближённые люди с старейшим фабрикам, где-то в Италии и оплатят перелёт и гражданство, с последующим устройством в какой-нибудь мировой, старейшей, элитной, обувной фабрике! Такие самородки, не должны "тусоваться", в "ларьках", на просторах России, вы достойны большего!
Что у вас за мания принижать мою страну ? Эти старые, уважаемые элитные фабрики где-то в Италии, посмотрев это видео, закроют свою фабрику там и приедут сюда. Откроют новую фабрику в старом здании и начнут совместную работу с местными умельцами, поднявшись благодаря им на новую, до той поры недосягаемую высоту в своём ремесле. Этим старым мафиозо самим у нас ещё учиться и учиться.

Beautiful. Absolutely the best. It shows where we came from. Yea just a boot! But... from bearfooted to crafting to repairing footwear. This to me anyhow is the foundation of mans building. This is a wonderful and enjoyable video to be saved for future cobblers. When I was child in Italy after the war I would walk around town and stop in front of the craftsmen’s shop and watch them work at their trades. Shoe repairing was one of them. I liked to see the cobbler stitch the shoe, one hand inside the other outside the shoe. I always wonder how he managed to do it. In those days shoes were always repaired and handed down. A kid could watch and decide what work he would like to do when ready to work. Unfortunately this chance to appreciate the various trades available to kids and be apprenticed is no longer here. What a pity.
there's something so satisfying about these videos showing how these boots are brought to life by these talented cobblers. I've seen them all... This guy at BOOTFURY however is at a totally different level. I'm blown away by the amount of work, craftsmanship, and creativity this guy puts into his work. He's doing BY HAND what other cobblers do with very sophisticated tools of the trade. His work is AMAZING!! Absolutely loved loved loved it!!

Jaime Martínez El hiso un trabajo para un cliente, al cual se le mojaron las botas totalmente en infinitas ocasiones en nieve, frio e lluvia, las botas se usaron CADA DIA durante 5 años. El solo dejo las partes que no era buano cambiar sequn el. Reforso la impermeabilidad. cambio las cosas de carton por otras de calidad, como otras piezas tambien. Segun el y el cliente un par nuevos eran muy caros ( casi 500 $), asi que su trabajo tiene que ser como alrededor del la mitad 250$? Hiso el taco al estilo *americano* parte delantera apuntando abajo, que segun el maestro es malo. Muchas piezas para el final hizo que se vean viejas para que no se note lo nuevo.

There should be a “shoe off” show. Where these guys could show off their skills instead of athletes which do nothing for society.

But they matched perfectly when I was done and that is primarily because I spent the time on making my lasts, they seem to be the most important part of building a good shoe. I wasn't taught how to do this, I learned from watching some videos years ago, but I'm also an artist and Craftsman. But in doing this, I gained a lot of respect for the master Craftsman who do this everyday.
Wow....what a craftsman....I hope we never lose these guys...if there's ever a collapse these fellows will help rebuild us....on a lighter side, this bought back some childhood/young adult memories....we always had shoes resoled and heeled up until mid 70's I'm guessing.....I especially liked getting a pair of Florsheim's reworked....they felt better than original if you got a good cobbler....I haven't seen a shoe shop in ages? Again, to the craftsman....amazing work....beautiful boots.....thank you for sharing....

for those of us old enough to remember what craftsmanship is (or at least was!), we respect it. kids now aren't likely to appreciate it simply because they're not likely to experience it.
it's a trade-off. we don't take our shoes to a cobbler because it's cheaper to buy a new pair. same thing with t.v.'s and computers and clothes. the trade-off comes in the idea that cobblers and repairmen don't drive the economy, buying new product does. so, we've given up a lot of our craftsmen to be able to sell millions of pairs of shoes, lowering the price of the product and providing work/economies.
it's ironic and somewhat sad, but maybe necessary, too. redwings are already expensive, but imagine how much they'd cost were a cobbler's services a fraction of the price of a new pair. redwing would have to triple the price to make up for lost sales! that's great if you're a cobbler, not so great if you're the guy wearing them and needs them fixed monday for work. meanwhile, another work boot company steps in with a decent quality at a far lower price.... you get it. but, that's how it goes ~ we put craftsmen out of work so that we can employ thousands of people in their place.
These kinds of craftsman videos are so hard to stop watching. So captivating, even though I’ll probably never repair my own shoes.
But I do have a pair of keens to bring down to the local cobbler to fix. And now I just want him to make them better then they were.
You Sir, are a master cobbler of the old school. First rate. Well done.

Я из Бразилии, и сегодня здесь так же трудно, как это искусство сапожника, люди хотят зарабатывать деньги просто и быстро, тогда они отказались от всего, что работает, и сфокусировались на искусстве джейтиньо, и если им не нравился спрос другой, мой дедушка был сапожником, но я не имел удовольствия встретиться с ним и увидеть, как он работает, но я имел удовольствие видеть, как ты работаешь, и я видел его видео от начала до конца, действительно очень хорошее, умение добавлено к качеству и этому искусству не умирай.

Не считал их алкоголиками, но низкоквалифицированными рабочими всегда считал, где особых навыков не нужно, и идут в эту профессию не от хорошей жизни, низкообразованные люди.

This amount of manual labor/craftsmanship would cost $500+ if it were done in the USA. This is the type of crafts person that would do well if he worked for Red Wing. Hand stitching the out sole to the last is insane.
Not really red wing directly has a Premium Repair Package for all their heritage line of boots for $125 usd which covers all of the things covered in this video from the resole to replacing the cork layer and reconditioning the top and they will throw in a can of their leather conditioner as a bonus.
Jacob Haver , He’s not only repairing the boots but also strengthened the boots by adding additional rubber inner and bottom soles to suit his customer demand who want it to be tougher on wet weather conditions.
I don’t know if this particular job can be done on the redwings premium heritage repair.

Короче, мне 33 года, в очередной выходной подбуханный я смотрю ролики по ютюбу и случайно попадаю на этот ролик, я открываю его на весь экран, после 5 минут просмотра и уже смотрю не отрываясь до конца. Я вообще далёк от обуви и как её чинить и вообще этим не интересовался, но видимо эта космическая мелодия, хоть и зацикленная просто погружает в транс и конечно, самое главное что удивляет - это полная отречённость работе, видно что человек не просто делает свою "работу", а я уверен был на половине ролика, что это просто его хобби было, настолько он увлечённо, профессионально и с любовью подходит к делу, тут я могу вспомнить разве что бабушкины пирожки, вот примерно с такой же любовью он это делает.
Увидев цену новой пару этих ботинок (25-35 тыс. рублей), досмотрев видео, почему то хочется сказать фразой, старого, советского фильма "Человек-Амфибия", когда он расплатился всеми деньгами отца:" -Сумасшедший миллионер!". Что мне подсказывает, что работа по ремонту этой обувки вышла ровно, если не дороже новой пары!
Снимаю шляпу перед таким мастером и надеюсь это видео увидят приближённые люди с старейшим фабрикам, где-то в Италии и оплатят перелёт и гражданство, с последующим устройством в какой-нибудь мировой, старейшей, элитной, обувной фабрике! Такие самородки, не должны "тусоваться", в "ларьках", на просторах России, вы достойны большего!
Что у вас за мания принижать мою страну ? Эти старые, уважаемые элитные фабрики где-то в Италии, посмотрев это видео, закроют свою фабрику там и приедут сюда. Откроют новую фабрику в старом здании и начнут совместную работу с местными умельцами, поднявшись благодаря им на новую, до той поры недосягаемую высоту в своём ремесле. Этим старым мафиозо самим у нас ещё учиться и учиться.
Нет, в Италии он не нужен. Там никто не может позволить себе обувь за полштуки. Там покупают за 30-50 евро такую же обувь, там ее делает автомат.

Beautiful. Absolutely the best. It shows where we came from. Yea just a boot! But... from bearfooted to crafting to repairing footwear. This to me anyhow is the foundation of mans building. Not carried on the backs only. If not for the of necessity of protecting our feet this craft born.

This is a wonderful and enjoyable video to be saved for future cobblers. When I was child in Italy after the war I would walk around town and stop in front of the craftsmen’s shop and watch them work at their trades. Shoe repairing was one of them. I liked to see the cobbler stitch the shoe, one hand inside the other outside the shoe. I always wonder how he managed to do it. In those days shoes were always repaired and handed down. A kid could watch and decide what work he would like to do when ready to work. Unfortunately this chance to appreciate the various trades available to kids and be apprenticed is no longer here. What a pity.
My dad was a shoe repair man for 40 years as a kid early 60s I spent a lot of time in his shop watching him amazing what he could do miss those days

there's something so satisfying about these videos showing how these boots are brought to life by these talented cobblers. I've seen them all... This guy at BOOTFURY however is at a totally different level. I'm blown away by the amount of work, craftsmanship, and creativity this guy puts into his work. He's doing BY HAND what other cobblers do with very sophisticated tools of the trade. His work is AMAZING!! Absolutely loved loved loved it!!

Jaime Martínez El hiso un trabajo para un cliente, al cual se le mojaron las botas totalmente en infinitas ocasiones en nieve, frio e lluvia, las botas se usaron CADA DIA durante 5 años.
El solo dejo las partes que no era buano cambiar sequn el. Reforso la impermeabilidad. cambio las cosas de carton por otras de calidad, como otras piezas tambien.
Segun el y el cliente un par nuevos eran muy caros ( casi 500 $), asi que su trabajo tiene que ser como alrededor del la mitad 250$?
Hiso el taco al estilo *americano* parte delantera apuntando abajo, que segun el maestro es malo. Muchas piezas para el final hizo que se vean viejas para que no se note lo nuevo.
