Jamaal Bowman sets off a fire alarm. He wasn't asleep! He wasn't incoherent! Why is this guy not prosecuted?

if Jan 6 was a threat to democracy, and a man was sentenced to 18 years in jail for conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding. Isn't that exactly what he did when he pulled a fire alarm to stop a vote on keeping the government open. We need equal justice.
Randomly pulling a fire alarm is wrong and dangerous. But it falls way short of being in the league as Trump's violent insurrection to stop the peaceful transfer of power on Jan 6th. Pulling a fire alarm isn't unconstitutional. Attacking the Capitol in an attempted insurrection is. And Trump's refusal to send help to the Capitol for nearly 4 hours(a key piece of evidence showing Trump didn't want to stop it) is known as "Dereliction of Duty." Republicans want to go after Bowman.....have at it. But special prosecutor Jack Smith is going to bury Trump in factual evidence of his crimes no matter what happens to Bowman.

It's not the same at all. Jan 6th was about stopping the peaceful transfer of power, not stopping or thwarting a vote on legislation. Apples and asteroids.
As for Bowen, he proved himself to be unworthy of a seat in Congress. But the vast majority of Americans can say the same about Empty G, and at least a couple dozen members of the GOP. I'm a Dem, and more than happy to get rid of Bowen and Tlaib, and anyone else behaving in a way that's unsavory for their position. We'll always have disagreements, which should be done civilly. Also, making bold faced lies about others, just so to rile up the rabble rousers, is not being civil, even if smiling and speaking such venom with a smile and a soft voice. For every Dem that needs to go, there's at least 10 Republicans who need to follow them out the door.

@@George-jy7op 2 tier justice system. Falsely pulling a fire alarm could also constitute illegal obstruction of congressional proceedings, a felony under federal law 18 U.S.C. § 1505. That is the only explanation for his conviction.
As a school principal he has to know that fire alarms don’t open doors. No wonder our kids don’t know how to read or write.
Have you watched full video? He wasn't even looking to open doors. Not only did he pull the fire alarms, he pulled signs off the fire doors. It was way more deliberate than he made it out to be. 100% obfuscation.
I had many dealings with nyboe principals in the business that I was in. Principals in nyc are not what they once were. Being one does not make you the sharpest knife in the draw. I also had a number of principles removed for incompetence. Need I go further. He knew what he was doing. You can see it in the video. His school was a failing school as many are, sad to say, so I would not be surprised if he was removed or knew it would happen sometime soon so he moved on first. What he did was reprehensible for the position he is in within government. What else would he do?

We should also investigate why it took so long to release the video. One look at the tape, and you can clearly see it was intentional. Stone-walling the release is also intentional.
