"Struggle Love" is and has always been the norm. It's just people today are doing it wrong. For most of modern American history (post WWII) American men and women married young with very little. And then they worked together to build. Key words being "married" and "worked together" and most importantly "young". People are waiting too long to get serious about relationships. You can't trick off the first decade and a half of your adulthood and think all these great potential mates will be waiting for you afterward. It doesn't work that way. It never has. The guys women see who are married and well put together usually built that up with their wives. Waiting on these finished product men is a fools errand. Most of the guys who managed to stay single while really building themselves have no interest in getting married.

"Struggle Love" is and has always been the norm. It's just people today are doing it wrong. For most of modern American history (post WWII) American men and women married young with very little. And then they worked together to build. Key words being "married" and "worked together" and most importantly "young".
People are waiting too long to get serious about relationships. You can't trick off the first decade and a half of your adulthood and think all these great potential mates will be waiting for you afterward. It doesn't work that way. It never has. The guys women see who are married and well put together usually built that up with their wives. Waiting on these finished product men is a fools errand. Most of the guys who managed to stay single while really building themselves have no interest in getting married.
The thing that pisses me off with modern day black women is that from the beginning of time black people have always survived together.
