Glad the wind dropped for long enough to get the drone footage, which was spectacular! Fantastic sunrise and great panoramic views of the mountains; I really liked the contrast with the frosty valleys. Thank you!
that was a great camp, Dave , and what a beautiful view in the morning being able to see such a long way, really nice. I love the views from mountain tops Dwayne
Cracking footage using the drone. Loved the sunset and sunrise . I absolutely love your honesty about your fitness level, to me you are super fit but it certainly gives me hope and inspiration. At 57 pushing 58 and after putting weight on over last few years (thankfully I'm losing it, a few stone over last 8 months. My fitness is coming back. Thanks for taking the time to do the camp, film and edit. It is appreciated. Cheers Sel
Dave, another excellent video still my go to channel for inspiration. Did my own summit camp on Grasmoor 22nd April and experienced that cold northerly wind before descending to cafe in Buttermere the following morning. Keep the content coming and stay healthy
Great camp with lovely views again! That sunrise deserves a painting! Thank you! Advice? All I got is don’t stand under a tree durning a lightening storm! 😉
Hi Dave, fantastic video yet again, atmospheric scenery. It is best to check weather forecast and match it with one's ability and fitness and experience. All the best Dave from Philip.
You are the best in the business at this Dave. Another great watch...loved it No drama, no risks taken, you just, as always, call it as it is. You let the mountains and scenery do your talking and paint your pictures. The colours of the sky in the evening and morning...sensational. Hopefully the weather picks up for us all in the next few weeks. Take it easy mate 👍
Big thanks Simon. Really appreciate that. That’s just how I want it to be. The mountains are the stars, not me. There’s just way too much fabricated drama on RUclips these days and I’m watching less and less other channels. Every video is about a storm or heavy rain and I find them pretty boring, but a lot of people enjoy them and they get tons of views. Just how it is, I guess 🤷♂️. It’s nice to know that people like you still enjoy the way I make my videos despite them being not so attractive to the masses. ATB
@@TheSoloSummiteer It's all about what the person doing the Wild Camping gets out of it. Your love of the mountains and the environment you are in, shines through in your films. @simoneales4566 🤣. There was a video out last year of a bloke who was “pushed to his limits” during a windy camp. Apparently he was praying to god for his life. This guy is supposedly very experienced in the mountains and familiar with the area. I watched it and it was obvious the tent was pitched wrong and whole scenario was a complete farce and set up for drama. He’s gone on to have tens of thousands of subscribers and the video has nearly 2M views. I lost all respect for the guy and don’t watch anymore. This is the way it’s all going.

Another excellent video ...brilliant views of the Lake District...but this wind just will not go away..beautiful sunrise and I loved the drone footage with backing music...many thanks for showing the amazing scenery..Best wishes.
Great video Dave. Just a suggestion about the porridge, I use the Quaker sachets and add and mix two teaspoons of Nestle Creamer to the sachet before the boiling water. It's a massive improvement.
awesome camp , really enjoyed watching , you picked a cracking spot , even though the wind was a pain , I loved the drone footage, some great views , looking forward to the next video
Superb views from the summit camp Dave!. Just returned from a family trip to the lakes, so lucky with the weather this weekend. Looked up to Dolly waggon and had memories of your camp up there. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Dave , as always stunning scenery and commentary. Love watching your mini adventures. I was in the lakes last week. . Rain, wind , frost and sunshine . Cant beat it😅😅😅 Thanks again for your vids .

Hi Dave what Insulating jackets can you recommend? What brands tend to perform well in terms of clothes and do what they say? I appreciate your first hand experience seeing im a newbie
Great stuff. I am doing the 2 moors way walk this summer over 5 days. ( not wild camping) Its lower level stuff, not mountains but I am after a recommendation for shoes/boots. Any suggestions ? I was thinking of just doing it in my solomon fell running shoes, but there is no ankle support as such. Thanks
Ģreat watch Dave and stunning views. Brings back fond memories of my Jack Russell Terrier bitch reaching Blencathra summit via Sharp Edge 10 years ago. "A brew with a view" haven't heard that for a while mate, good to see you out in the lakes again though
Nice one. Many thanks 🫖😁👍
Yeah mate not a bagger 💼 😁One of my favourite mountains Blencathra. Re the wind and rain, us wild campers are bleeping sick of it. My last winter camp was two months ago, it was cold but a super morning and no wind on Great Knoutberry in the dales. Atb
🤣👍. Aye. Sick to death of it now 🌧️ 💨🥶 🙄🤦🏻♂️
When will these winds stop. April 25th and still freezing cold in the South.
Yeah. Crazy 🥶
Great video 👍 Sunset, Sunrise, And you got to use your drone. You always ask for advise in the comment, Don't think you need any! except maybe down booties for the cold feet 😉
Haha. Ive got some down booties but I forgot them 🤦🏻♂️😁. Glad you enjoyed it. ATB
Hi Dave what Insulating jackets can you recommend? What brands tend to perform well in terms of clothes and do what they say? I appreciate your first hand experience seeing im a newbie
I’m a big fan of Mountain Equipment. My favourite winter jacket is the ME Lightline jacket. Highly recommend 👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer thanks Dave
Your drone shots are incredible is it the dji mini 3 or pro version? Looks 4k so assume it’s one them?
Thank you🙏🏻. Much appreciated. Yes it’s the mini 3 pro 👍
did sharp edge for the first time yesterday. lots of people up there. great walk tho!
Nice one 😎👍. Yeah, that’s why I went up in the week. It’s very popular at weekends.
Thanks
Awesome video. Can I ask what stove you used on this camp? Do you rate it?
Thank you. It’s an OEX Heiro. Love it 👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer I thought it looked liked one. Thanks. And thanks for sharing your amazing videos
Hi Dave what rucksack do you use mate
Hi Neil. It’s an Osprey Atmos 50.👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer thanks dave for letting me know ⛰️👊
You are a amazing wild camper atmosphere and footage you bring to your videos is like no other
Really appreciate that Mark. Thank you 🙏🏻
👋🏻
Great one Dave thanks for sharing 👊👍🥃
Ģreat watch Dave and stunning views. Brings back fond memories of my Jack Russell Terrier bitch reaching Blencathra summit via Sharp Edge 10 years ago. Hikers with larger dogs were turning back on the Sharp Edge ascent route due to the difficulty of the terrain. Now she is 16 years old and only ventures out on the back lawn at home. Never underestimate a Jack Russell! Thanks for posting.
That’s brilliant, Chris. Love it. Sounds like she’s earned her time on the back lawn after all those adventures in the mountains. ❤️🙏🏻
