    Just so all you guys saying that the teeth in the video aren't megalodon teeth because of their size know, they are. Size has nothing to do with their ID. Morphology does. Not every single tooth in their mouths were 8 inches long. If you do some research you'll see that there is a LOT of variability within their teeth.

    I’m a marine science major at University of Florida! There is one living species of dugong and they exist in the area around Australia. We lost the closest relative in the 18th century (called the stellar sea cow and the only Sirenia to exist in cold waters) from overfishing them to extinction. Dugong have fluked tails like dolphins because they were pelagic and it is better for maneuverability versus manatees that live in waterways with less of a current and have rounded tails.

    some of you on here have been watching the movie meg a bit too much i think, expecting all their teeth to be the size of a small child. 60' length max and they get this info from mostly their teeth alone as sharks leave virtually no trace after they are gone due to being made up of mostly soft tissues. The rough formula is 10' for every inch of tooth for the max length of the shark. so he is still finding a 40' shark there which is only 20' off the estimated max length and this isn't even stating which of the 3 or 4 different types of megaladon teeth that he may be holding.

    Everyone’s saying it’s not a megalodon tooth because it’s too small. Size doesn’t change what the type of shark it came from is. If you compare the teeth found in the video to a full sized one found anywhere on google, you’ll see they look nearly exactly identical.

    • @mconnly826
      @mconnly826 6 лет назад

      ItsCvpherr shark teeth are different from human teeth the size does matter. Sharks have no bones except for there jaw bone and as you know teeth stem out of that. So if a megolodon were to have teeth that small it wouldn’t do much when biting its prey. And teeth just wouldn’t grow that small

    This is indeed a megalodon tooth. Megalodon can have different type of sized tooth depending how many teeth are in there mouth. if there are lots of teeth in the mouth the teeth will probably find a gap and grow to uncertain sizes. So basically it's little just because how many teeth are in that megalodons mouth.

    A megolodon tooth is much larger than that. It must have come off of a necklace or something. But that’s a great white tooth. A megolodon tooth would be roughly the size of your hand. And to everyone that says it is a baby meg tooth then why isn’t it fossilized. The megolodon went extinct millions of years ago meaning that the tooth would have to be fossilized to be real

    • @Jason-Bailey

      It came off of a small megalodon.

      megalodons arent just born with teeth that big, the shark had to grow and in the process lose its smaller teeth

    I used to live in Chicago. One time my dad and I went to the beach and I had a little toy, that was like the tool they were using to look for shark teeth. I was looking for pretty seashells with it and I found a white shark tooth. At first I had no idea what it was. Then I asked my dad and he told me that it was a shark tooth. I wasn't that interested at first, but then one day I showed it to my teacher and she told me that it was a white shark tooth, and asked if she could use it for a lesson. Everyone said how amazing it was, and so I did more research, and now I am interested in it. I still have it.
