I became a vegan on 2/22/22 and as a woman in her 50's I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. I was a vegan in my 30's but the options were never like they are today. I love how I feel and I have lots of energy. Was on antidepressants and sleeping pills and completely off of them now and I sleep much better. This has been a long time coming and watching your videos and what can be eaten as a vegan that is flavorful, healthy and delicious made me a believer..thanks💚💚
Take care of yourself and don't feel bad about taking medicine if you would need it again. Wholefood vegan is very healthy, but it's not necessarily a cure for everything. Having said that, I am absolutely sure that many illnesses, including mental illness such as depression, can be improved with healthy food and lifestyle and it's always good for our soul to choose kindness and vegan food is the kindest food. ❤
I have watched MANY videos of chefs cooking but no one is as passionate as Gaz about his recipes and so happy to show us. This is why I keep watching this channel and I am a proud vegan today 👍🏻
The Setup, the recipes, the dishes, the servings, vegan stuff, the mood, you as a chef - Gaz this channel is absolute perfection❗ -> I can't even decide which one I am gonna try first 😵💫
I make sweet and sour tofu often - I like to use tinned pineapple chunks for convenience, then I can use the reserved juice/syrup for the sauce. I also add apricot jam to the sauce (instead of sugar) to make it sweeter but also to add astringency. I also add soy to the sauce. Lastly, chunky cut mixed peppers. Yum
They all look wonderful, but I think I will try the sweet & sour tofu first . . . followed by the others :) So glad you are back - really missed seeing you!
I've been making a similar tofu mousse for years, experimenting with different flavors. Chocolate varieties are my favorites, especially with raspberry compote. Pumpkin and cinnamon also make a beautiful mousse. Thank you for always creating such gorgeous content!
I loveeee tofu! I can eat that stuff straight out of the packet. Watching this whilst in Mexico! Me and my boyfriend loved meeting you and Tom at xkatikv in Tulum! Excited to try these recipes!
Thank you! I made an innocent comment on another vegan RUclipsr's channel saying thanks for using more natural protein, like tofu, tempeh, beans and legumes. Wow, I got so much hate, people saying that soy is killing us and feminizing men (really the Asian folks eating it for 2000 years seem OK) and that it is also a processed food etc, etc. I honestly don't have thick enough skin to ever be a RUclipsr. My respect Gaz.
This couldn't have come at a better time - my local supermarket finally started to sell tofu and smoked tofu and for years, it was the one thing I was always afraid to cook, but now I really have no excuses! Thanks as always!
The salad is so simple but incredibly delicious and packed full of flavour!! Will definitely be making this on the weekly! As always, thank you for your incredible recipes x
Welcome back! These recipes look great! I just found out I am a vegetarian with a soy allergy. I find in america, alot of store bought food contains soy. But it's fine, I am just working on a new learning curve. So, if you are so inclined, perhaps another video with recipes for high protein w/o soy? You are fantastic!
Yes there’s loads on my channel/website😀 just search high protein Gaz Oakley on RUclips, most are with out tofu! Today’s video is just to show what can be done with tofu!
Can I suggest adding hemp hearts to dishes. They are very high in protein and virtually tasteless. I add them to lots if dishes, even smoothies. Good luck
I love watching Gaz cook. His recipes are always thoughtful. The intention he uses to craft his food is top notch! Its just cooking on a whole other level. Thank you for sharing your gifts!
Try this one too: Tofu Cutlet (pre-baked tofu), sliced thinly, add sesame oil and nutritional yeast and cover evenly, then bake/broil/pan fry til crispy...that's it. Simple yet amazingly delicious...somehow sesame oil and nutritional yeast equals poultry. Done this for sandwiches and they were amazing.
