This high-tech version of grandmas pressure cooker is marvelous. Gazillions of recipes online. I have tried many and all but a few were quick and tasty. I love the cooking from frozen capability. Eager to use in our travel trailer once the weather breaks.
Cool. Thankful. Very helpful. I just purchased the mealthy multipot and upon opening it today, i was thrown off by the pressure release button that releases the steam. It was wabbly and i thought it was broken. But then i noticed yours is wabbly too. So either this is normal or yours is broken too. I cant wait to test this out. I have to wait until i move into my new place i will be calling home for awhile sometime in june. Thank you again for sharing your time with us to go over how all this works. I assume all instant pots are awesome. Or so i pray. ❤
I love cooking vegetables in the Instant Pot because I don’t have to use a lot of water. This allows for more of the nutrients to stay in the vegetables instead of being released into the water. Steaming corn on the cob at 2 minutes with 2 cups of water is awesome! No more soggy corn for us.
Hi Julie, super review! We love our instant pot ... left it at the stick house on one trip and it was a sad situation :) it fits great on the QBA countertop too! One tip... if anyone tries chicken wings, this will cook them in a hurry too - we finish on the grill to get crispy ;)
I probably have every kitchen gadget available (thanks pampered chef!) and I can say if I could only take one kitchen item, it's my instant pot. It does everything.
It's a great gadget. I still prefer the fancy rice cooker as it does a much better job with brown rice. I use ours on a regular basis for boiled eggs, steel cut oats, yogurt, roasts and stew. The quick cooking time is a real benefit when I run it off the inverter. It draws more power than the slow cooker but for much less time. The net is much less power from the batteries. I used to use a Cuisinart electric pressure cooker but this is much more flexible. Thank you for the review.
Thanks for sharing Richard! Yes it cooks food super fast! We love the consistency of the cooking but agree it doesn't do quite as good a job on brown rice, but good enough for us as we don't have the luxury of space/weight for an extra appliance. Good to know re the inverter power draw as we don't actually have an inverter in our coach! Cheers
Hi, Here In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil we dont´have this Instant Pot Pressure Cooker, but Others like Electrolux, Oster, Philco and really it´s also very good and easy to use ! I liked your video ! Congratulations !
Cooking Channel, here she comes! Thanks for the very informative and professionally presented tutorial. I can almost smell & taste the delicious fajitas. I'll bring the margaritas. Cheers. :-)
Can you set it to automatically go to "Keep Warm" after the cooking time? I would think that would be good and safer than letting the food sit in there cooling down and possibly growing bacteria.
Not really, as we don't spend a ton of time in humid climates, we also have Damprid hanging in the cupboards and I usually try to release the steam under the rangetop with the fan on - which helps some. Also sometimes I use the Instant Pot outside... or even sit it on the stairwell near the door to cook.... I don't use it everyday. The natural release method also dramatically reduces the steam. I think if you used it inside a lot and had a smaller RV, no ventilation/fans/open windows and spent a lot of time in humid climates this would definitely be a higher consideration.. but no less than cooking with propane as that creates humidity as well. We try to run fans, vents and open windows as often as possible in our RV to keep ventilation and air flow which I am sure would help
Funny you should ask that. The absolute first time I used mine, it was mid 40's and raining outside. I released the steam and it condensed on the roof vent over the kitchen then started raining on me inside. So you better have ventilation when you release the steam vent. Lesson learned.
two things I appreciate about your video. 1. The short intro...You spared us the 2 minute music video. 2, you don't speak with the obnoxious rising inflection that sounds like you're asking a question when you're just making a statement. That can be so irritating i will just stop the video if it gets too bad.
i have a question, im in England and im going to make a bacon and onion roly poly. but i cant find how long and what settings do i cook it . steam or preasure cook ? and any help would be appreciated .
Oh yes must try ribs - they would be good! Hard boiled eggs are great as they are so consistent, don't crack like when boiling - I found a great 'recipe/method' online that gives specific cooking ties depending on exactly how you like your eggs - specifically the yolk.
Great review. Straight to the point, very clear and useful. Ordered mine. Thanks for taking the time to review.
OMG BLESS YOUR HEART!!! THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS VIDEO. I just got an instant pot and was so lost on what to do ... thank you
You are welcome! We love our Instant Pot. Hope you love yours too!

Yes we love that too - being able to cook from frozen so quickly is amazing! We did it last night - frozen salmon and broccoli in 2 minutes. Love it!

Totally agree Julie! Keeps the nutrients and no soggy veggies!

Your review was outstanding. I already have one and cannot live without it. Can’t wait to use it in our future R.V. Happy Trails!
Thank you so much, this was very helpful.
You can use a long wooden/silicone spoon/spatula to release the Valve. That way you're far away from it.
Nice idea!
Thank you very much great video👍🏻❤️
Glad you enjoyed it - love our Instant Pot!

Good video, thanks.
*But you need to wash the lid, seal ring and vent knob every time it is used. Very easy to assemble and clean the lid.
Yes, a good thorough clean every time
Do you find the release stream to be an issue for general RV humidity control?

Oh wow Bill that is funny... yet not - thanks for sharing your experience and lesson learned, for the benefit of all of us!
Julie, is the 6qt size the right one for 2 people in an RV? Have you ever wished you had the 8qt?

A small steak be pan-fried in the instant pot?
Sure!

sorry, no insight for how long to cook it. But beauty of instant pot is that it is very difficult to over cook anything.
We absolutely love your instapot. Ribs, pork butt are fantastic. Need to try hard boiled eggs.

Hi, i know this is a stupid question but a receipe calls for pre heating the pot. How do i do this. I have the same model as you.
Debbie The sauté button can preheat the pot.
What about cleaning?
