Always fantastic to see Spitz at the top of game, especially on the anniversary of this fantastic achievement! 💪💪
7 gold medals 7 world records, touch that! Mark Spitz was the inspirational star of the Munich Olympics. A true hero.
Mark Spitz was my inspiration for swimming since I was a kid in the 70's. I think he is the GOAT, just imagine if he would have continued swimming for another couple of Olympic games.
The 4x100 (freestyle) relay medal ceremony was different than the relay race that was shown. Shown receiving medals are Mark Spitz, Jerry Heidenreich, John Murphy and David Edgar. The (medley) relay race swimmers were Mark Spitz, Jerry Heidenreich, Tom Bruce and Mike Stamm.
No había tenido oportunidad de ver finales de esos años, me encantó. Y el cierre, para mi gusto, definió el primer lugar.
He is a great swimmer.
From a 2024 perspective, their Breststroke technique is beyond appaling! 😃
So true! I was just watching and wondering wth is this technique?! 🤯🤣🫢 The dives and underwaters were also rather questionable 😆
Ricordo! Che record! Campione!
THANK YOU
Interesting to watch how swimming techniques have evolved. I can only imagine what the future of swimming will look like. Maybe no breathing. Many swimmer don’t even take a breath when doing a 50m. Lol
YES *me2 50M no BREATH

It looks like the medal ceremony is for the 4X100m freestyle relay and not the 4X100 medley relay.
Yes that's exactly what happened.
I was wondering why the USSR got bronze medals for coming in 4th
why is this video unavailable i wanted to watch it :(
It was so close after the second leg.
Imagine the consternation if the USA anchor guy false started or got a cramp or something.
Great memories
Very beautiful
Love it!!
The medal ceremony is not for the 4x100 medley relay.
4x100m FREeSTYLE
laszlo cseh travelling to the past
I only heard about Mark Spitz from Family Guy. Joe Swanson dressed up as him from Halloween, many cripple jokes followed. 😂
Laszlo Cseh performing backstroke in 1972? Long career...
I had the same thought😀. Maybe its his father or grandfather.
They’re not wearing goggles!! My eyes would burn!
And they’re all doing belly flops off the blocks!! So much pain haha
@@kentatreacher301 YES the TECHniques ARE aMAZing'
For swimming connoisseurs, what do you guys think are the biggest differences between the technique those days and nowadays?
Faster pools?
One of them is the underwater, probably the main difference, but in every style you see big differences, and even the flip.
The backstroke looks like they’re slapping the water, no streamline dolphin kick off the wall, the breast is way too herky jerky as a dude who specializes in that stroke , the pullout is just the arm pull no dolphin kick and they aren’t holding their line so to speak
He could’ve won 8 if there was a 50m free
Eye Did 29s
Considering this is called the Olympics channel, there are lot of mistakes, like showing the 4x100 freestyle relay medal ceremony here instead of the medal ceremony for the race shown. Odd.
