Macaron's look pretty and they DO taste good. Its the texture that catches you off guard, once you start chewing, it gets really chewy almost like a taffy and not like a cake/cookie like you are expecting. And they are super sweet. I could only eat half of one at a time :P

(You know that extremely bitter sliver of nut-bark that sometimes gets stuck between pecans? That's what all almonds taste like to me. Don't know why.) But you make these cookies sound delicious.

the macaroons I see on the cooking shows I watch like Masterchef... they didn't have the foot on them.. they were perfect round puffy crisp beautiful pieces of yumm ! and I'm not criticising at all just comparing and I'm so jelous I've always wanted to try them !!

the ones from paris (or maybe france too?) are realy the best. the other copies from local producers outside of france are only copies and there is a HUGE difference. I ate some in paris and my mind was blown away. they were PERFECT. the crepes there are not so extraordinary. they taste really similar to the ones you get everywhere else.
