I am a fellow INFP currently working in a customer service job. Although it might not be apparent, there are aspects of the job that makes it suitable for our personality type. Yes, it's really demanding and emotionally draining at times, depending on the type of the individual you're working with, but it offers moments of deep inner fulfillment, especially when you've been successful at resolving somebody's issue, hearing their expression of gratitude, and establishing an emotional and friendly connection with a person.
Also, last but not least, it doesn't require you to meet with people in person, so it eases you from having to deal with a high frequency of human interactions.
Overall, albeit being difficult at times, it often provides a sense of emotional fulfillment, which I find to be a positive aspect of the job.
Important additional notes: Please, bear in mind that I've been working in this role for 6 months only, and that I agree that it wouldn't be a most rewarding experience to work in this field until retirement.

Is it the career or the administration you hate? Perhaps you are suffering from burnout? I myself am an RN (also INFP I’ve discovered) and have unfortunately suffered severe burnout. I loved being a nurse until the hospital switched from non-profit to for profit. Everything has changed in the field of healthcare, everything is definitely profit run, patients be damned. As an INFP who is studying to become a computer engineer, my personality type gives me an edge because when learning new information, I immediately seek to thoroughly understand it, link it to past information I learned, and explore every limitation of its application. This allows me to learn information effectively and generate several functional solutions to the problems at hand. I don’t know why people see engineering as so rigid. You are utilizing every bit of knowledge you have been exposed to in creative ways to come up with a unique solution. That’s why I wish more INFPs would give engineering a chance. STEM in general necessitates a creative approach to problem solving.
Edit: I retested and apparently I’m an INFJ, which makes sense actually. I’ve been seriously working on my time management and organization, and it’s helped to reduce my stress about potentially forgotten or unfinished tasks a lot.

    • @ashierapreston
      @ashierapreston 2 года назад +6

@@GG-mr9iz Part of the reason is I genuinely enjoy it, but a lot of people in STEM careers are there for the prestige or income. So I think it’s just the fact that INFPs usually don’t choose careers they don’t feel fulfilled by, and most engineers don’t find their work to have deeper fulfillment. So many of my classmates were forced to choose their careers by their parents, I’m just lucky that I happen to enjoy this sort of career path.

Well, these carriers more seem like of ENFJs and ESFJs rather than INFPs
Its strange how people overassume everything, INFPs are XXFPs which makes them Artistic but not people pleaser
INFPs main functions are Int. Feeling and Ext. Intuition and thus are self absorbed, imaginative, self pleasers
They may help some coz they like it but they dont really care for everyone , thats the truth , they are individualists like ISFPs and they are good in carriers of Writing, Music, Composing, Plants, painting, etc to express thier int feeling and explore due to ext. Intuition
Remember INFPs are very similar to ENFPs rather than INFJs and these carriers requires social work which is main domain of EXFJs or all XXFJs to some extent since they have extroverted feelings and care for other people and thus
These carrier makes more sense for XXFJs and
All XXFPs are with int. feeling and hence very self fascinated artists within self , they will not work for people and rather just do what they like doing by heart

Fr. The stereotype that we’re crybabies who love helping people, is not necessarily true. Like, we are kind and respectful (because that’s supposed to be normal right)but we don’t all go out of our way to help others if it’s inconvenient to us, we’re too shy or not sociable enough. Like, I don’t feel like doing 9 years of college to save people ´s lives lmao, even 6 is too much

I mean it's okay if you don't want them. The list is just based on INFP's cognitive functions
For me, i want to help people because i want to create a safe place for them. I'm an INFP too but we all humans work differently
Some INFP likes to create more, some INFP likes to help more, some INFP likes to share more, and many things. This why we're called individualistic and unique because we have different views and think

@@CharlieAnderson-xe7rm Well, I'll be damn! To see if we have stuff in common; do you like profound talk about life? Or psychology or philosophy?
P.s thanks for answering. It's appreciated.

I am a INFP. I am an artist, and a youth mentor ☺️. Also going to be teaching art. I love everything about it.
    I’ve also always loved psychology,
I was a librarian intern in high school,
I’ve dabbled into the whole massage thing just for personal desire to massage my babies pressure points n whatnot,
I create content to market my artwork,
I’m obsessed with writing, journaling, note taking etc..
It’s funny to me how much of this list I resonates with. 😂 Gives me a sense of alignment . ✨🤭

There are so many adventures in this world to be had... I'm hoping us INFP's find the balance & richness in life that we seek, cuz man do we flourish when the stars align with our hearts! Fellow INFPs, keep doing what makes you HAPPIEST, YOU HOLD THE POWER TO CREATE THE LIFE OF YOUR DREAMS!
