I love your touring itineraries! I usually get sucked into the standard travel book "Paris in a day" Or "Paris in 3 days" and get overwhelmed with too many tourist sites. Instead of scheduling a hectic day, I love that your suggestions are relaxed, original and authentic. I especially appreciate that you have laid the geography out in an organic way - choosing food, shopping and site seeing that compliment each other and require minimal travel time. I can hardly wait to come back to Paris and follow these guides!
Watched your last vlog and having lived in Paris for Ten years I never knew about the rooftop view in Galeries Lafayette. Actually went today it’s fabulous. ❤
Just wanted to thank you so much for these videos. My best friend and I are visiting next month and we have been a couple of times…so we have already done some of the very popular sites and looking for new ones!
I absolutely love your videos!! I stumbled upon your channel maybe a week or two before visiting Paris, and my family and I watched your channel while we were there and were thoroughly entertained by your IKEA and Italy misadventures. Anyway, I am going to save these kinds of videos for our second trip to Paris because they are priceless - thank you!!
I am glad you mentioned Jardin des Plantes. My friend who lives in Paris has recommended it in the past. I will definitely go when I visit in October. Love Rue Mouffetard, but I don’t think Shakespeare and Co. is worth a long wait.
It is highly unlikelty that I will travel again, I am just too old now and then there is finance. But thank you for such lovely and informative arm chair travel! I loved every minute of it!!
9:11 Shakespeare and company is so popular over the years but before you visit the shop, Read the story behind it. I recommended: "A moveable feast" by Hemmingway and "Sylvia Beach and the lost generation" by Noel Riley Fitch such a beautiful book about the history of Paris in '20 and '30. And finally : The letters of Sylvia Beach by Keri Welsh.
Your enthusiasm is infectious! I really appreciate the care you take introducing us to lesser known sights, especially the coffee shops & parks. I'll be in Paris for the first time, in October and will try out some of your suggestions.
Ah thank you so much for the lovely comment ! I’m so glad you find the video helpful ☺️ you will have the best time ! October is a great month to visit Paris !
I have been to Paris twice for New Years. Went to Shakespeare and Co. to get a souvenir for my mom. No line-up late December. Bought the book about the shop and a canvas tote bag. It is an interesting shop worth exploring, but I would not line up!
9:31 The very first bookshop and libary of Sylvia beach was 8 Rue Dupuytren, and the second in Rue de L'odeon 12. During the World War II the shop have to close and after the war she never open the bookshop sadly. She lives above her former bookshop with all the books in her tiny appartement. George Whitman started the second Shakespeare and company, its first called Les Mistral. On the 400th birthday of Shakespeare in 1964 they renamed the bookshop Shakespeare and company. As honour Sylvia Beach. If you love books, literature, history and writers, this bookshop is so satisfied. So fill your heart with joy and visit the bookshop!! When you buy a book, ask for the Shakespeare and company stamp on the first page.
9:48 Please read " A moveable feast" by Hemmingway and "Sylvia Beach and the lost generation" by Noel Riley Fitch and you will understand it. But I'm agree that most of the tourist only visit the shop because of the movies: "midnight in Paris " and "before sunset" or just read it online a article of must see in Paris.
Hi Ariel, I like your vlog, but you talk to fast. I would like to feel like you're talking to me. But it sounds like you're selling something on TV. Please slow down some.

Yes I agree ! It’s definitely an interesting shop but my goodness I was not prepared to wait in a 30mn line in the beating sun 😂

Another great Shakespeare and Company book is The Time Was Soft There: A Paris Sojourn at Shakespeare & Co. by Jeremy Mercer.
@@stanawarren1972 Thank you for this wonderful recommendation!

Sorry about that 🥲 when I’m talking about Paris I tend to get a little more educational so I think that changes how I speak 😂
