    ==== ABOUT LES FRENCHIES ====
    After 32 years in the US, the Duponts moved to France where Antoine was born. Antoine is rediscovering his homeland and sharing it with his American wife Colleen. With the help of his brother Vincent, a renowned Restaurateur (and food snob).
    They are on a quest to find the best France has to offer.
    There are over 35,000 villages in France, all with their own history, culture, and food. We are on a journey to discover as many of them as we can together. Let’s go.
    🥖🍷 Food & Vines. 🎭 🏰 Culture & History. 🎨 🌳 Art & Nature.

      It's a pity that the original CRESCENT form of the croissant with its 2 ends turned at 90 degrees what allows their CARAMELISATION during cooking is disappearing and is more and more replaced by the simple losange form that you show at 0:50 which CAN'T caramelise ! I really don't understand why the French bakers are today abandoning the much tasty traditional form ! At breakfeast, the French eat as well toasts with butter and jam and american style cereals (corn flakes). In your other videos, you should present as well another tasty pastry the "galette des rois" with frangipane, the "Paris-Brest", the traditional French (not Belgian) waffle which is the "gauffre Chantilly" with "sucre glace", the delicious "pain bagnat" to make sandwiches, and the basic "palmier" because it's usually big despite beeing one of the cheapest pastries. I have never heard of "pain suisse", but its name suggests that it comes from Switzerland. Congratulations for your videos which are very acurate and deprived of clichés or exagerated impressions, and consequently very helpfull for tourists.

      if you want a butter overload croissant go check out Mori Yoshida at = 65 Av. de Breteuil. It will ruin all croissants back in America for you LOL. plus you will be by Tour Montparnasse if you want to go see the city from the top of a tall building. BUT the best view of Paris is from on top of the Arche De Triumphe, not too high so you can SEE the buildings. have fun!

      I got a hankering for a croissant on a day I was going to Costco. Bought a 12-pack there for less than a single one from a café in the LA area. The café pastry may or may not even be fresh, who knows. I put one in the toaster oven at 200 degrees for a few minutes to soften the butter and crisp the outside. Sublime. Wrapped a few in plastic for the freezer, and took the rest to the church to get them out of my house. 😆 That’ll have to do.

    Kouign-amann (doesn't sound like «man» in English but like «maman» in French)  comes from Breton language and means «butter cake», it's actually bread dough plus half sugar and half butter («tant pour tant » in culinary verbiage), highly addictive and devilicious.

    the thing that kills me is that in Paris you get the real deal for only 2 Euro, but in America if you go to Starbucks a lame sad croissant that is the consistency of a dinner role costs $4.00 AND if you are lucky enough like I am to live by amazing french bakeries like Arsicault Bakery in San Francisco it's $5.00 (but so worth it). Why do we charge so much here in America!? oh right, greed.

(shops in rue de Chaillot, facing Musée Galiera, and another one in rue Bayen in the 17th, close to Ternes, naming only two places). Be sure to buy them early morning, they disappear fast !

    How dare you make this video! I'm drooling :) I've not seen a Pain au Suisse, which is definitely something to look out for (I'm a Creme Pat junkie!) and I already make brioche but will have to try putting sugar on top. Thank you for helping my waistline to expand LOL

Just so much to try! Can't wait for our trip #2 next April! Of course we'll balance it all out with lots of walking... Merci for waking sleeping dogs to all that's available 😍😍

    We just returned from France. We only spent a few hours in Paris. We went to Carton in the morning before the train. I got a few pastries to try since it was my only shot. I purchased the sugary one(forgot the name), it was awesome. All we tried from Carton was amazing

    La petite alsacienne ! My favorite 14th district boulangerie for vienoiserie ! In winter, they sell Manala (Alsacian christmas biscuits) as well !
    Thanks for trying lots of boulangeries ! Might keep some of your recommandations while I'm wandering in neighbors I'm not that familiar with !

    Hi guys, I love French bakeries. The best croissant I ever had was in the town of Versailles. A tiny little bakery with one table lol. My friend and I were there early enough to get the table. I really like your videos. You should make an inexpensive picnic video. I saw the video of your picnic and you guys spent way too much for 2. Watching your videos makes me love Paris all the more. I buy art from this guy along the Seine at the end of the green book stores. He has to be the best water colour painter I have ever seen. I finally subscribed, you guys make me excited to go back. Anyways have a good one eh!😁🇨🇦
