I owned a few Egnaters including a Tweaker and a Rebel 30. They were solid amps, but I prefer the Frenzel. They are quite different. The Frenzels are much more modern in terms of tone and also function. The Frenzel acts and sounds like an old Fender. Loud, clean until cranked, and not extremely versatile. But it is a great sounding amp. The Egnaters are more modern, flexible, and shapable. They rely more on preamp gain. They can do a lot of different things.
Both are good amps. They are pretty different beasts though. The Mesa is more geared towards preamp gain and can really cover a wide range of gain tones from clean to metal. It also definitely has that mesa flavor. The Tweaker is more versatile in terms of flavor but not in gain. You can get a Fender, Marshall, or Vox type tone pretty convincingly but they all are in that clean-med gain range. Also the Mesa has a really loud clean channel so if you need to stay clean with a loud drummer...
hey man,i noticed you have kind of a weird thing going on with your tongue every time you play a riff, and it looks like your going to accidentally bite it off.you should try and chew gum or put something in your mouth when your playing to help you stop.great tones and playing by the way,i have this amp as well and i love it.
How does the Frenzel compare to a Tweaker do you think, I have the tweaker 15 and the preamp toes are not very convincing, the fender tone is the most like fender but the rest are not that great. I find my self wanting a real amp, not a toy. Is the Frenzel a real amp?
Hi, i would like to ask you :) - I have 5:50 head (not the "+" one) and I think there is a lot of noise going on when I turn the amp on - or just dont play. Our second guitarist has an Orange amp and its much quiter than mine. Do or did you have the same problem? How can i solve it? :)
Whenever I see a review where the amp is run through a bunch of pedals, I take that as a red flag. Combined with the fact that there are very few reviews, which is another red flag. If it was a great amp there would be a ton of reviews on it. I will definitely pass on this amp.
Thanks! I've not played a Boogie before this, but I'm very impressed. Modern sounding, great gain, and usable at low volumes.
Dude your ballin, I watch pretty much all your videos and you bought so much like past two months!
tune up!!!

Great demo!
Thanks!
Both are fine amps, but they do different things. If you're looking for something a little more 'classic' I think the Frenzel would be a great choice.

trillriff-axegrinder yea looks extremely dangerous. Rumor has it, it’s how SRV died.
