    Ich finde mega cool, dass du zumindest in einem Teil des Videos mal weniger Musik und mehr von dem funkgebrabbel reingeschnitten hast. I like it. Am Ende dann der Zeitraffer ist aber auch nice...

      @@flomoose7315 why would it be ? march - October : 6 months. Seems fair to me... and if you want to fly during Winter you can still go ridge flying 🙂

      @@mathiscolson2444 not everyone is able to has his own plane tho😬... Our club will probably only be able to start flying in May, losing the best parts of the year :/ due to the strict covid restrictions in the winter🤐

    Nice Stefan! I was at Donauwörth in 2008 when i landed there to make a stop and got a tow out with un ultralight. Nice small air field.

    Only today I've seen accident report near Feuerstein airfield, which happened the same day at 3 PM local time. Luckily anybody was injured as I can see from this report...only glider ASK-21 was damaged.

    This season I will do my first XC flights as licensed pilot.
    My 200km flight and other small XCs last year will give me a good entry to real XC flights.

    Oh man, I'm going back to flying this year after 15 years. I was so silly by stopping. I had only basic training so it will be all from the beggining again. I'm so happy and nervous at the same time :). I hope that old trusty Bocian will forgive me first hard landings 🙃

    Oha krass, bei deiner Landung sieht man ja links die Feuerwehrfahrzeuge bei der Bergung des ASK 21 Piloten (vermute ich zumindest). Hast du davon was mitbekommen während deines Fluges?

      Ja, wir haben das in der Luft mitbekommen. Ich war selber nicht auf der Platzfrequenz, aber ander Piloten... Bei Minute @4:38 kann man die verunglückte ASK21 erkennen.

    do you have on board some kind of equipment for detecting other aircraft to prevent a collision in the air?

      Yes, he uses a FLARM device. Its a Collision Avoiding System which is kind of standard in every German glider.

      Yes, I wear a parachute. Just in case of a mid air collision or some technical issues. For the normal flying it is not mandatory, only in competitions and aerobatics 😉

      it's the variometer, it says if you're climbing or going down. the sound is for the pilot not looking at his instruments while he's flying 😀

      Variometer tells you if you are climbing or descending, i.e. helps you detect thermals.

      Jaaa, war nicht ganz optimal 🤣
      Bin mit der Wölbklappen Landestellung angeflogen und die Bahn geht etwas nach oben. Da hat man wenig Energie zum abfangen.

    Ok so I stumbled into this like an hour ago. Let's pretend I have what the internet says is enough money to get a basic glider and lessons to get a license. Where can I go on the internet to find good information on hidden costs of maintenance, what types of gliders exist, and any other information that is useful for someone with zero initial knowledge? I think this is something I might like to get into. I've also been tooling around with flight Sims in vr using my Hotas and rudder pedals.

      War nicht meine sanfteste Landung. Ich bin mit der Wölbklappenstellung "L" angeflogen und die Bahn geht etwas den Berg hoch. Deshalb hatte ich dann etwas wenig Energie zum schönen Ausschweben bzw. hätte ich minimal höher abfangen können.

      Weil weiss die Sonnenenergie reflektiert anstatt sie zu absorbieren. Sonst würde der Flieger nur unnötig heiss werden und das Wachs (welches man in der Wartung an den Flieger schmiert) würde wegschmelzen.

    Wie geil muss das sein, in so einem leisen Cockpit zu fliegen? Einfach entspannt durch die Gebiete gleiten. In der Ka6 ist es nicht so leise. xD Das ist aber jammern auf hohem Niveau. Stellt euch vor, es gibt Leute, die können oder dürfen nicht fliegen. :(

      Im Endeffekt ist es relativ egal in welchem Flugzeug man sitzt. Hauptsache fliegen 🤙🏼

      Ein akustisches Variometer. Damit höre ich, ob die Luft steigt oder sinkt. Nachdem ich keinen Motor im Flugzeug habe, ist das so ziemlich das wichtigste Instrument ;)
