- Somtimes competition flights are very demanding. At this day we had very low cloudbase, we flew in a complex area and I even struggled to get back home…
But on the other hand flying international competitions is always a kind of holidays. Having a nice breakfast in a small cafe, meeting new friends and to be able to see the landscape from the birds perspective - that´s awesome!

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 looks really impressive. The rain drops on the canopy is a nice touch.
Yes and the person speaks to you😉
Greased it on! Love that circling approach over town.
Thanks for the ride along.
Gliders are so beautiful! So elegant.
beautiful flying and film making. thanks for sharing your spectacular flights. I love it all.
Competition days never turn out like you think
You must love the Neo,see it's a great handling Glider like it's siblings
Great flying
Beautiful video! That approach is amazing!! :)) Thanks.
Thank you!!
That was fun! Zer Gut! Thanks for the video!
Beautiful, Stefan. Please keep making your videos.
Der Landeanflug über den Häusern, mega ... und die Landung, perfekt, well done :)
Wow, look at that sky!
Is there an optimal strategy for using the FES in competition? For example, is it better to use it early to save your altitude ... or wait until you've gotten low and then use it to sustain until you hit lift? Or maybe shortcuts across blue holes?
I also have an FES but have never flown competitions. I rarely use the FES and I only have about 20 cycles on the motor after flying it for 7 years although I've started using it more lately.
It would be interesting to know if there was something like a MacCready strategy for FES.
Also ... I'm extremely jealous that you get to fly around Italy!!!
A última perna para o pouso foi realmente impressionante, voando sobre a cidade, não poderia acabar melhor.
I don't know how I ended up here, but I got this video as recommended. I love the scenery in your videos, how a glide flies, and especially noiseless and peaceful fly. Those beep sounds never bother me, because I always fly with two noisy turbo fans. haha
Nice Flight, thanks!
Absolutely Beautiful !
I like your glider. Nice little thing!
It's also an expensive little thing. You could get a fancy aerobatic aircraft for the cost of that glider.
@@Athaeus really? I know which I'd chose! Gimmie engine n horsepower any day 😉 lol
Thanks for the nice ride!!
A very exhilarating flight experience! Great piloting.
Sounds like you’re making a smoothie. I love it!
Whats this?
@@benjaminbenavidesiglesias52 We call it humor. Have you ever seen people pulling a strange face, and producing weird noises, like haha or hee heee hee? Things you do or say that make people react so weird, that is called humor. It is contageous, it is a social thing, the more people witness your humor, the better. You could try hurting yourself in public on purpose, making it look like an accident. Don't over do it, getting badly wounded or passing away is not always appreciated. Fire arm accidents are very funny, somebody buys a gun to feel safer, and what happens, he forgets the safety catch and shoots in his own foot. Would you feel safe, around such a moron? No, huh, and that is ironic, and that is funny. But those fire arm people have less humor, so shooting yourself and repeatedly crying you expected to feel much safer, I'd not recommend it everywhere. So, be a bit careful how bad you hurt yourself. Stumbling and falling to the ground or smashing into sign posts, pretending not to have seen the obstacles, though it hurts a lot, it usually does the trick.
Have fun, trying your first humor.
Later on, you'll discover that comparing is also humor. Comparing an electric glider to a smoothy blender is the first example. You did not recognize it, but after my hint, do you see it?
It spins and it makes a lot of noise because it has a powerful electric motor. And it has some blades that would cut off your fingers without any trouble. Smoothie. E-glider. Got it?
Gee, you got to explain literally EVERTHING to some people. Why is it my turn? Help!
@@voornaam3191 Do not worry or take it badly, it was just a light comment without wanting anything else! . I'm Sorry. 🤐

I loved it, I took a flight and never left the ground
LOVE SOILING!!!!!!❤
Nice flight, first time I virtually rode in a glider. Easy to figure out the tones are VSI but wonder if air-speed is involved, tho it didn't seem so.
Nice having some battery power when you need it. Not sure the surprise based on the title, but guessing maybe the rain. Great flight in a beautiful area.
that was beautiful to watch
Always a pleasure to see you flying, it misses me à lot, octobre could have been nice but they put covid behind every cloud. You Rock !
GENIAL 💯💯💯💯💯 desde Colombia un gran saludo.🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
Woww... Amazing flight.. Nice Brother
Tu sei Bravo!
The sound the glider makes is satisfying 😊
Lil Ayo XO no it’s annoying
it sounds like a star wars droid
why does it make that beep-beep sound? Avionics equipment? some air-drag/life/plane-body stuff/builtin feature to tell the pilot about the plane's orientation?

@@zaighamrandhawa214 its the sound the variometer makes.
Very good video. This must be the ultimate flying pleasure
Thank you! Yes, it is the ultimate flying pleasur ;)
@@SteFly Definitely click bait. Crap piloting Must be doing circuits every time you fly. If you can't stay up in that weather you'll never go anywhere. try more instruction on co ordinated controls. Your yaw string points to a major fault even on takeoff. Try coming Down Under in blue sky. That'll get you on mother earth real quick.
@@anrepscoach Haha and you need corrective lenses? :D The jaw string is very long and the camera is not mounted in the middle, that´s why it looks like that.
@@SteFly Never thought about corrective lenses. Fantastic opt out. Well done.
It was cool seeing the synoptic chart since I study meteorology. That's the kind of pattern we would dream of here in the UK in summer.
Wow~ what a great view~ it's cool!! I feeling like a that fresh air high ! from south korea~

The in flight meal looked very...nutritious!
Great video and I really enjoy all your videos, I fly gliders too but I don't really understand this Eglide competition, where you have to use your Motor...thanks
Carrier approach CASE ONE :D
Ah! So it is from this flight that landing on reddit was from!
Correct!
Excellent video. Puts us right in the cockpit! I love that vario thing. Wonder if I could get one installed in my car. :-) Or maybe my wife's car.
Very beatifoul italy🇮🇹🇮🇹
Grandissimo , si vede che sai il fatto tuo !
17:03 - Butter!
Everything is butter with these gliders 😉
Respect brother 🇲🇽
Great video, nice flying and scenery. Do you prefer high or low tow? I always feel more comfortable in a low tow.
Beautiful landing,that approach scared me!!
He's got a motor

I can’t go to Northern Italy: I wouldn’t want to come back.
Given the recent spate of corona-virus, you possibly wouldn't come back.
@@Thisisahandle701 We here in the North were the least affected by Corona in the whole country.
If you live in Scarborough I wouldn't blame you. :)
Do you have water? What about the climbing power with full weight? Thanks for the beautiful ride!!
Yes, I launched with 45 kg/m² wingloading. So I had about 60 liters of water with me at the beginning and during the first half of the flight. I should have dropped the water earlier because the weather was not so good...
Omg at 8:07 the cloud on his right looks like a thumbs up 🤣
Bagus bangetzz..klo di jakarta enak gk macet 😁
I love this video :) What is the plane (brand, model) ?
That's one bad ass lock on that door - CLICK - CLICK!!!!
Do you use condor simulator in the winter?
Great video!
What is the make and model of your glider plane?
Literally the coolest thing i’ve ever seen!
😠😠
Oh look at me... no way I could do this irl. Too many bellyrolls for me. Frkn annoying fear of heights. Thank you for these awesome vids.
As a service tech, I like how he locks his front door. The screws that hold it in place are not only loose but are on the wrong side of the door, so all you have to do is unscrew the door lock and you are in, hahhahah.
As a service tech you should know that this is a european style lock and the screw on the front is to keep te decoration in place. To remove the lock you need to unscrew the side of the lock which you can only access if the door is unlocked and open.
You lucky man
Just loved the loose screws on the outside of the door lock. If you lose keys, just unscrew lock and remove.
Do not mess with those locks.
Your best video yet! Congrats! What competition was this?
E-Glide.
Thank you! It was a e-Glide competition, ther first one of this format.
So schön still
Why do you have to turn the key so many times to lock your door?

how much is the tow up to altitude? sorry im new to this sport.

Очень круто!!!!!
So, what are the rules? Is it allowed to use your motor during a competition?
that landing was seminal, skills. wow
Nice video
Thank you!
7:21 OCH KOMM nicht schon wieder 😂
Its useful to see other people fly if only to determine if we are all as safe as we might be. Its clear that your community thinks nothing of flying low over an inhabited area. You were also in a tow behind a single engine aircraft which is noisy, of course, bad enough, but left you both for several moments over a town which neither of you could fly clear of if the engine spluttered and died. As I said, your community thinks nothing of taking such risks. Its a hobby so needs to have higher, not lower, standards than essential or even commercial operators because the wider population have no need of your activity so it represents zero gain for the risks they are taking.
Great video! I am a new glider pilot, do you have any tips about anything?

That glider has a propeller on it?
The landing options at 11:50 if the Fes didn't work... oof
Where did this take place? I'd like to take some buddies here from our X-Plane Gliders Facebook group - hence an ICOA or airfield name would be great ;-)
Doh! I see it was Pavullo from the very beginning of the video!!!
This is in Italy, is it?
What camera u use?
You need a repair to your front door lock Stefan
What does the beeping communicate?
好酷喔,希望台灣也有
what exactly is electrical? can you self launch that thing??
wow how fast isit going
SO I'M NOT A GLIDER PILOT BUT IT APPEARS YOU DIDN'T GET TO LAND AT DEPARTURE AIRPORT, BUT AT LEAST YOU RECOGNIZED THE SITUATION AND LANDED ON A RUNWAY GOOD JOB!!!!
why does this aircraft makes whistle sound? so cute
I was asking too
if you're talking about the beeping sound, it's to know if your glider is gaining or losing altitude. if it's high pitched, then the glider is Gaining altidute. if it's low pitched though, the glider is Losing altidute. if the beeping is not "beeping", then the glider is in the same altitude.
@@namedrik5876 nope, he's not talking about the beeping sound
If you're talking about airflow sounds, there are various things on the aircraft that could lead to air making a noise such as the canopy, canopy window etc. A slight gap in the canopy seal or canopy sliding vent window could lead to airflow making a whistling noise.
If you're talking about the sound like a slide flute, that is the Variometer that indicates a positive or negative effect on altitude. This provides a clear audible feedback to the pilot that they are either gaining or losing altitude.
Ali G in da house🤪
That's good
Geiles Video weiter so
Which camera do you use
DJI Osmo Action and Panasonic GH5
This is by far the coolest shit i’ve found on the internet. The footage feels exactly like an F-15 Eagle footage except that it is towed by another plane to get up in the air. How long can the propellers turn at full speed? Is there petrol stores in the glider? or is everything electric?
