People are reaching for reasons to hate on this guy because of one incident with peanuts but have no problem with all the players getting DUI over at the SeC schools 😒
@rushstormempire1 nah people making excuses to down played the seriousness of it. The kid bullied another kid and gave him peanuts knowing he was allergic. Something that can kill an allergic person. Trying compare to dui is an attempt justified USC decision to recruit him while the hometown team said no. This was a big deal in Austin. Not because of a UT recruit but he was attending one of the top high-school in the central texas...bunch people with $$$.
Just so people know, his teammate told him he had a severe peanut allergy and coming into contact with one peanut could kill him. It sounds like Cordova didnt believe him, so he and another teammate put some peanuts in his sports locker and some peanut dust in his cleats. All in all about 15-20 peanuts in the locker. His teammate got a rash and had some swelling, not enough to use his epi-pen, but a notoceable negative reaction. All in all it was really dumb and potentially dangerous. It sounds like Cordova has some immaturity issues( shocking a highschooler would be immature). What he did was dumb and he apologized for it. But people online are making out to be way more than that, calling it attempted murder. It was no doubt dumb and immature but i dont think he was trying to kill anyone. Hopefully he learns a valuable lesson from this and grows from it.
You are really trying to rationalize this because the victim didn't use his epi-pen? He and his teammates MEANT to cause harm to that kid...full stop! Let him rehabilitate his reputation on some other team.
@TheMasterCylinder I only mentioned that because it was mentioned in the article I read, to reference the severity of the reaction. He had a bad reaction, but not bad enough to need his pen. I didn't rationalize anything, I said it was stupid and immature and potentially dangerous. It's also not attempted murder and I'm not flying off the handles like you. Kids his age do immature stupid things. They grow up and learn from this. His life shouldn't be ruined forever because he made a dumbass mistake. I believe in forgiveness and second chances and I'm sure this coaching staff has done their due diligence. And they clearly think more level headed than you do.
@@TheMasterCylinderstfu 😂 lol his next generation acts like people can’t make mistakes. Let’s go through your childhood man I’m sure you were a peach based on your response to a kid making a mistake. Peanuts if not ingested aren’t life threatening even for those with an allergic reaction
Umm we know KIDS make mistakes and do dumb shit all the time, It’s about what he does GOING FORWARD and that’s all us USC fans should care about, MFs act like he’s a criminal and 2 time felon, He’s a KID who played a dumb ass prank and EVERYONE deserves a second chance and screw anybody who thinks differently
@@AG01699 Apparently it was only put down from him putting peanuts in a teammates food, who is allergic. His rankings being low has nothing to do with talent but more character for that
We dropped Deyvid's commitment and he was kicked off his team as a captain... yet Michigan got a steal according to everyone else. It's just wild that the teammate had a minor rash and played in the game 2 hours later, yet everyone is treating him like a thug 🤷♂️
You’re of course entitled to your opinion and no doubt this “prank” was incredibly immature and reckless. I don’t in any way excuse it, but I expect it was made very clear to him how boneheaded and potentially dangerous his action was and, as a result, he has learned and grown from the incident. I really doubt an offer would’ve been made without really delving into that with him.
Folks go ahead youtube this kid or read actual new stories. This was a big deal in Central Texas. Especially him attending a highschool with people annual income some of the highest in Texas. I think USC getting to a point were they'll take risks, because the head coach starting to catch heat. I hope getting guys like Gus doesn't start creating a culture problem. Just look as far back at Florida when Tim Tebow was playing and guys that was on rosters. Florida hasn't been the same since.

This guy is a Bill Romanowski/Bryan Cushing type, OMG.
We had a CB commit too!!!!
A fine young man anyone would be proud to have on their team.
Oh, wait ....
Hopefully he won’t try to literally murder his teammates there, too.
That’s a crazy thing to say when you don’t have the facts, this is just a kid. Remember that

Aye we just got another recruit bro! 4 star CB Kelly! 👌
I’m still not really sure about the whole situation but I trust Lincoln Riley and coach henny
I don’t wanna say anything bad about this kid but if it turns out to be true that he did what he did, he should not have an offer.

What did he do
I’m reading the article now if he did that then the cops should arrest him

Hope these recruits stick. I don't trust the system anymore. It early do get really jazzed about. I'm happy but cautious
