Hi Great video very helpful! I’m In the uk and have 1947 model A which is just about to have the engine put back together. You did mention in the video about tightening the head studs down. How did you do it was it opposite each other starting from the middle?
@johndeere-yk6db @garywright4612 thanks for keeping me honest guys. Kind of embarrassed by this one. I had the feeling I was forgetting something but couldn't put my finger on it. I added a note to the description of the video. I can't edit the video without pulling it down and reposting it sadly.
Look at the SIZE OF THOSE PISTONS! Massive.
And that is just the A. The G and D are even bigger. It's pretty amazing really, especially compared to other brands of tractors at the time.
Did you make sure that the shims are tight to the crank shaft
So as to maintain oil pressure ?
Especially the bottom ones !
Do you mean the shims to the main bearings? If so, yes.
@@DanielFarmChannel ok , you didn't say anything about them .
Nice video

I start from the middle and work out and around.
Could you send me information on where you got your rods re babbled. I have a 1939 b that needs redone. Thanks.
Hart Machine Service in Cecil, OH. Another great option is Effingham Regrinding in Effingham, Illinois (talk to Dean). Both do high quality work.
Where was the lead washers goes on the head studs behind the nut
@@garywright4613 oh shoot. Definitely forgot them.
@DanielFarmChannel I noticed you missed the lead washers as well but thought maybe you put them on earlier.
