  • It’s time to welcome the warm weather with a beautiful spring dinner!! This Short Rib Dinner is a medley of flavors that will certainly impress your guests! To start your dinner party begin by serving edamame, a crowd-favorite appetizer that sets the stage for this dinner. For the main event learn how to make rich and flavorful soy braised short ribs, served with aromatic cumin-scented rice and crisp charred broccoli salad. For dessert Randy shows you a recipe for grilled pineapple with RumChata whipped cream. One thing is for sure: your friends won’t have any complaints!!

    Sitting in my Delano hotel room, after a full day of conferences. I’d seen that your video went live a bit earlier this afternoon-but work calls. But now the hardest decision of my day - do I stay and watch the video, or do I put my shoes back on and head up to the sky fall for meet and greet with all our vendors. WWRD? Go and drink and be with people, but come home (Hôtel) after a glass or two (not 3) of bubbles, put your feet up, grab to go plate you were smart enough to curate from the buffet and LOVE EVERY MINUTE of this video. It wasn’t a BIG plate of food, maybe room service is still a possibility. That you, Randy. Thank you for feeding our eyes, our hearts, our heads with your beautiful meals of love. I’m going to sleep well tonight knowing some one cares enough to make that meal. Sweet dreams.

    Tahini is made by grinding sesame seeds into a smooth paste. Sometimes the sesame seeds are hulled, sometimes they're left unhulled; sometimes roasted, sometimes raw. We like to use tahini to make dressings, soft serve, snack bites, stuffed dates, and SO many other dishes. The possibilities are endless!

    The usual thing I make for dinner is reservation, the cuisine I eat is Lean, my oven is used to store pots and pans, and there's so many ketchup packets in my kitchen drawer I can bottle my own. I watch your cooking show, end to end, not to learn how to cook, but to watch YOU. You're funny, unique, genuine and fabulous.

    Best short ribs, and the first, I ever had was at a Howard Johnson's Resto in Hyannis a zillion years ago. It was a huge piece of meat on the bone and it melted in my mouth. Recently, I read that chef Jacques Pépin was once in charge of their kitchens so I imagine it was his recipe or influence. This meal looks insanely good. I cawnt wait to try the salad and of course I'm going to a butcher next Tuesday to get a few pounds of short ribs (on sale at $6.99/pound) then give this a try. Thanks for sharing this pal.     Entertaining and inspiring once again. Day before is always best in terms of taste and less stress for stews and beans, in my experience, but in a NY blackout, the same day is fine.     FUN FACT! It tastes like rice pudding because it's Horchata (A drink or agua fresca made of rice, cinnamon and milk) with Rum :)

    So basically, the French do it overnight so you can pull the fat (after it has gelatinized) off the dish and then reheat. Skimming fat from a hot dish is a major PITA. You can also use a fat separator and then make a gravy.

    Randy, it’s me again from yesterday, the teacher? . You can find King Fisher in any Indian grocery store. Some Indian restaurants also have it. Try Jackson Heights.. you might get lucky!!
