  • Just because I got to sit down with a good friend Michelle (Instagram: @operarose.studio) and create together - feels like such a huge win.
Learn about my thoughts around this digital exhibition and what I have learnt about Van Gogh.
I started to love impressionist style paintings and after this exhibition - I bought a few books with Vincent Van Gogh's art to keep my inspiration bank flowing.
So - how do you feel about AI and art? Will artists be replaced?
📌Join The Floral Foundation - a $7/ month membership where I help artists to get started and fill the gaps in their self-taught journey with greater structure and guidance so they can spend more time painting and less time connecting the dots. You be surprised at the value you get for the cost of a fancy coffee at Starbucks

What an amazing Van Gogh exhibit! That had to be incredible to experience. I really appreciate you sharing your views on this topic. I think as an artist, it can feel intimidating that a machine will take over the art world. However, I believe anything created by our own human hands is far superior to any machine. I would much rather give and or receive a hand made gift from someone than any store bought item.

I personally use AI in my art practice to help with my aphantasia. Because I do not "see" things in my head, I cannot draw purely from imagination. AI allows me to generate a reference that helps me produce original artwork. And since I do not prompt the AI to give me an image in any style...I hopefully avoid copyright concerns.

This exhibit does look amazing. It definitely makes certain artists Art were accessible. As you know when works have to travel it can take years and months before anyone gets to see it and sometimes it doesn’t ever leave the country it’s from, and that means that you can only see it in a picture format if you can’t travel. However, it’s not the same as seeing an original piece of traditional art in the flesh you can feel the passion in the brushstrokes and the artist emotion radiating through their work. I think AI is okay for generating ideas, but as Art it’s self. I don’t think it can replace Artis because if you think about it, what is the meaning behind the work that the AI is created? A computer doesn’t have a sense of context in feeling emotion and experience when they’re creating the piece of artwork it’s just generated from different bits of information it’s collected. That’s not what an artwork is. The very essence of art is the artist putting a part of themselves on canvas, or into whatever medium they use no computer or AI system is capable of that. Like I said for accessibility to see other people’s work it’s great but other than that traditional art will always come first for me and it’s definitely more enjoyable to create and view

I think the danger is, that "The Generation Wow", which includes almost all ages now, will always prefer the "Fast Wow" like "Fast Food", "Drive In's", "Fast Experiences", "Short Trips" and so on.
The whole industry of technology produces countless "Just press a bottom"-artists.
And humankind is idle enough to take this train.
    This might be the disadvantage.
The advantage could be on the other hand, that people will be able to be part of the big huge global team to create the world much more the way they want it. For example visually.
    I think it's both - a threat and a chance (maybe).
At least something to handle with care...

I enjoy reading ur comment. Because I can see what u mean and agree with u too about the press of a button how things just pop out and magically appear. It is the instant gratification nation... haha and it impacts all generations in new ways. Hence we no longer seem to appreciate how skills and craftsmanship takes time and respect.
