I grew up in Hermosa Beach back in the 60s and 70s. I remember all the shop's like Bing, Jacobs Dewey and Rick surfboards. That was my best time in my life.
Rodney Smart- I remember Jock when he was stationed at Ft. Ord in Monterey and having to adjust to NORCAL waves and attitudes. I recall him riding Plastic Fantastic boards. It was about 70/71. He wasn't all there.
I know I am an old fart, but I'll take Jock Sutherland and Billy Hamilton over any of the young studs on the professional tour these days. They did it with STYLE!!!
Dear Randy! - Please help us! We are looking for the movie "Pacific Vibrations" by John Severson... Can you help us? We want to show the film next week as part of a small festival and have been looking for the film for 2 months... we have completed a license for the projecting. Only they didn't tell us that they don't own the film at all... Now we are asking around everywhere... Or do you have an idea where we could ask?
Awesome!

I learned to surf watching Rolf Aurness at Riviera in the late sixties. The only time I ever saw him fall off a board was in this movie.
Find more of these classics they are epic
...one world 👉one fin👉no leash ❤
Early seventies my friend dinged his board on Jock's washing machine. He refused to patch that ding. Peace

Santa Cruz was Happy Days in 1965. In 1970 it was Cream and the Greatfull Dead. Then it became the Walking Dead. But the waves stayed the same.
