I love how you just use items that you bought 5 yrs or so ago, and don't feel the need to buy new "minimalist" things. I like how transparent you are. So inspiring!
I’m really intentional with what I buy, I try to buy / consume only what I need. We need to slow down and realise that very often we don’t need to buy new things, we just have to use what we already have 😌 And a positive bonus is that we are able to save more money overtime 😄
Looks perfect for a beach holiday to me! Of course, your clothing takes up very little space - I know my mom complains that her very slim friend travels with a backpack while our bras and swimsuits take up much more space than yours lol and just my husband's shoes would fill my backpack!! But I frequently travel with a 16 l Kanken backpack even though my clothing isn't tiny and it's fine, I have plenty of room for the few items I need for a week and if I'm away longer, I wash stuff. It's a relief to see a woman who doesn't need so much for hair and beauty, straighteners etc. as I also get by just fine with a small pouch for my essentials ;) Also, are any of us traveling to places where we couldn't buy whatever we might need and didn't happen to have taken?!
I find IKEA bags to be incredible quality for low prices. I have a fold up weekend bag, it was £5. I carry it in my handbag when I travel in case I need it.
Thank you for sharing your minimalist journey & adventures with us Louise! As a half French aspiring minimalist, I love hearing you use French words when you don't know the English equivalent. What would you say is the most challenging aspect of minimalism for you? Keep inspiring 🤗
I would say the most challenging part of minimalism is to not go crazy when I go to city centers and see so many non necessary shops, and the clutter and consumption in my families houses 🥲
Your "merino shirt" is sort of a camisole! In America your little bag is a "fanny pack," or a "waist pack," and you're right ... in the UK it's a "bum bag."
We would also call it a tank top. Also the chemise for us is just a shirt. You could maybe say blouse also. Maybe that’s the word she was trying to think of!
Amazing! I didn't know you can use the Dr Bronner's soap in your hair, I will definitely try this! Last time I travelled, I used a tote bag a little big bigger than this, kind of like a fake longchamp bag. It was a little more than I wanted to do but I was travelling in autumn! For my next summer trip I think I will be more like you with my kånken backpack!
Yes you can use it on hair it’s written on the bar soap 😊 I thought about taking a tote bag too for this trip ahah, convenient but I prefer to have a bag whom (not sure about this word, first time using it 🤣) I can ziplock, more secure 😌 Yeah definitely travelling in autumn / winter you need more things 🍂 Thank you for your comment ❤️
Love your new sneakers! I keep seeing a backpack like that at Ikea in the US for $2.99 but I kept putting it back. But seeing how long and how well it works out well for you, I am going to give it a try the next time I go to Ikea.
I bought a cheap little backpack from IKEA that lasted me like 7 years! I even used it as a diaper bag for all my kids lol. I was sad when it finally died.
Thank you for your lovely video's Maybe you want to share which airbnb/appartement/hotel you stayed in Albanië? And what are your recommandations to see/do? Albanië is on my travel-wishlist :) Looking forward to see your next video Wishing you all the best from Holland, Lycke ♡
I love how light you travel Louise 😍😍 traveling with only a backpack is the best! I am curious though, you do not travel with body lotion or conditioner?
Did you not have a lot of stuff in your life to begin with? I'm curious because I am an American and unfortunately have a lot of stuff because of the culture. But I am trying my best to declutter. I stopped buying things. I find it so hard to choose what to get rid of and what to keep. I have watched all your videos but I am curious if you can make another video going more into detail about how you got to so little and what/why you decided to keep the things you did. ❤ Thanks! Love your videos! You're my favorite extreme minimalist and inspire me! ✨
When I first moved to Paris I came with a full car and a full truck so I had way more stuff than today. When I started to declutter almost 2 years ago, I did not a drastic change, it was baby steps. But yes I will make a another video on this topic for sure ☺️ That’s really great that you want to simplify your life. I’m with you! 💪 Little tip for now is to stop adding new things into your space because otherwise it will be a never ending cycle 🙂
@@louisefroideval yay thanks for the response! I can't wait ! And yes I have come to realize I needed to stop consuming all together and that has helped A LOT!
Hey Lana! 😊 Honestly they are both great. So I would say, for environmental reasons, if you are in France, buy a local 72% green Marseille soap, or if are elsewhere, buy the Dr Bronners (my point is to avoid long shipping, it’s not eco friendly to order a Marseille soap and send it to the other side of the globe if that makes sense, so if you can buy a Dr Bronners directly at your local store, definitely go for it! 😄)
Yes it live them greesy but it’s normal it’s because our hair is too used to regular shampoo and the chemicals that goes with it. 😊 After a few weeks of use the hair is amazing !
@@extrememinimalism It's very hot there, as I understand it. But wearing leggings during the day and then sleeping in dirty leggings in a clean bed is not very good. Therefore, I want to find out the answer from the author of the channel. 😊
what's crazy is that you could go even more light weight very easily if you really wanted/needed to! that book, the stuff on the keychain, the hairbrush, lots of things could be made smaller or cut out altogether or a smaller/lighter alternative exists
She has a vest top, trousers, shirt, hoodie, a sarong, and a dress . . . One full set of underwear, spare socks and a bikini set. I also work on one full change of clothes (but l don't use swimwear as the second set of underwear, l need to think about a more supportive bikini for that)
You should definitely take with you a first aid kit with medications for all occasions. Or in France you can’t just buy medicine without a prescription? We take a painkiller, an adhesive plaster, for blood pressure, a bandage, hydrogen peroxide, for nausea, an electronic thermometer, TheraFlu, paracetamol and more. Maybe you are still too young and therefore think that you will not get sick on the trip. But if this happens, then running around in a foreign country in search of a pharmacy or waiting for a doctor will take a long time and will be more expensive than taking the necessary medications with you from home.
I can confirm (also French here), I think I even heard that there are more pharmacies than bakeries in France. And there are what we call "on call pharmacies" so that there's always one open near you. ;)
@@Nade1jda Thank you! 😊 I did not know about it. We travel to different countries and on the road in a foreign country anything can happen and you need to be prepared if you suddenly get sick, we always take different medicines with us. Have a nice day too! 💕
@@arianedurand3141 It’s clear that there are pharmacies and shops, but she didn’t go to the desert. But shopping would be a waste of money. It is much more economical to take some tablets from home. We always do this. And so do all the travelers we watch. 😊
@@Claireluciole it’s not a waste of money if it’s something you’d have to buy anyway. You can take the medicine home and continue to use it, regardless of where it was purchased. (And it’s likely that prices in Albania are lower than in France.)

Where are you traveling that you need to bring your own tableware and spices? 😂 The whole point of minimalist travel is to take just the essentials; if you need something else you can get it at your destination.
@@andreslucero81 Often there is nothing at the destination. It happens that there is not even a kettle. We book accommodation in advance and see if there is a kitchen there.
