I would like to thank you for these videos, I am a returning flutist after 20 years, self taught, the information is presented in a clear way and is helping in so many ways,I am remembering a great deal and learning many new techniques. If you are still giving workshops and ever come to Albuquerque NM,I hope you post, would definitely like to meet and learn from you.Thank you again fo the excellent videos and the inspiration.
Amazing tips. Im a returning self taught adult. Thank you for these GREAT videos. Ive played Sax & Clarinet in school but always wanted to play flute. Now as a mom I can do what I want. These videos are so helpful. I will definitely subscribe and put your videos to good use.
I'm in 6th grade and we are testing on this in about 2 weeks. But our teacher doesn't really help us. He just tells us the notes and yells when we don't get it. It's very frustrating. This was so helpful thank you also much.
***** Thanks so much for your reply, Dr. Klee. I've started learning the flute rather late in the game (I'll be 61 next month), but I am truly enjoying the challenge and the beautiful sound of the instrument. I've subscribed to your RUclips channel and am looking forward to your new videos. Again, thank you for your response to my question. In Christ - Patrick
G.P. Bryant SO glad to help you and that you're enjoying the flute! I've had students well beyond YOUR years, so do keep up the good work! I'm starting the uploads of new videos today.

Dr. Klee: I agree with your 120-126 bpm metronome assessment. I found out at 123 bpm I wasn't able to lift my left pinky and third finger off the Ab key simultaneously ( my third finger reflex is slow at 123 bpm) to go to the A key when playing the E scale on the alto sax. Up thru 120 bpm no problem. I enjoy your vids. I am a beginner on the flute and it's a refreshing change from playing the sax.
When I tell my students that I am STILL using a metronome EVERYDAY when I practice even after playing the flute for over sixty years they cannot believe it. David
+Pooh xsquish You can say both. "Flutist" is more North American while "flautist" is common elsewhere. "Flutist" used to be more common and "flautist" was adopted only recently (several hundred years ago) into English from Italian.

Hi!
That is from my my Latin CD called Mi Bonita entitled Mi Bonita. Glad you like it!! David
Do you have an ISBN for the second book you mention? I can't find it on Amazon.
DuoDaHell69 Hi!
The second book I mentioned is called:
Exercices Journaliers pour la flute (Daily Exercises for the flute) by Marcel Moyse
is this quarter note @ 126 or lesser denominations?
great video
who was the first book you mentioned by??
Yeah, who and what ISBN?
The fabric of flute playing- martha rearick
It would be wonderful if Dr. Klee would either hold up the books he's referencing, or spell the names of the books' authors.

THX For the information. lots of Knowledge Thx mate LOL
thankyou!
Please turn off your 'automatic audio' shut off.
Absolutely, metronome every day. It's the only way to learn technique properly. No technique, no musicality.
When I tell my students that I am STILL using a metronome EVERYDAY when I practice even after playing the flute for over sixty years they cannot believe it. David
Did he just say flutist? I thought it was flautist.

Oh. Lol. I am American, and my band teacher taught me flautist
I am Australian and use flautist. It can simply be a matter of personal preference. Flautist sounds more sophisticated to me.
+Nathan King same. lol
With the way this guy plays, he can call 'em anything he wants!
Too much speech. We need to see you to practice. Than's
Hello!
I DO practice-about 3-4 hours each day. I was just trying to talk about the proper way to practice to help others. David
