Task switching is one of the main killers of productivity. I love Deep Work by Cal Newport, he has some awesome tips to overcome this!
When I wrote my bachelor thesis I did a similar thing: I uninstalled everything on my phone except an mp3 player for a month. I told one friend and we agreed to meet via SMS once a week. Also my family knew in case of emergencies. It felt like I'm free and I still not use much social media. I honestly enjoyed it somehow. It helped my productivity very much because I had 4 exams in one week. Did very well.

It's great to see that even my study idol has also taken up the challenge. Recently, even I have been procrastinating and often finding myself easily distracted from my work. so I ditched my phone and started the dopamine detox along with the practice of vipassana meditation. I am also documenting my journey and I hope I can find some value from this experiment. All the best @ProjectElon .

I only want to read books but even though I know all the things that are supposed to work, I still can't get enough motivation to do any of them for very long. Too old, too set in my ways I guess.
Maybe you can try setting around 5 to 10 pages a day and build up from there?
@@ace1432 Thank you. The mind is gone on page one. They are text books so not the easiest of reads anyway. When taking notes it's almost like I need to write verbatim too. Nightmare...but onwards I must go.
