It certainly does. The hardest part about riding this bike is keeping it in the power band. The long straights are the only spot that I'm good enough to keep it on the pipe.
It's actually quite the tame bike to ride. I'd be much more afraid of a modern 250 two stroke. The RM465 has a very predictable powerband that is easy to ride, even for a sportsman rider that I was when I got the bike.
@@vintageadventurerrides You might be right , i was 11 years old back then , My brother had the 82 r m 250 thats when radiators came out it was a fast bike , Full floater suspention was the #1 suspention . Yamaha came out with radiators in 81 it was on the handle bars then in 82 every body came out with radiators underneth on the frame benhind the front shocks .
@@james-b7j7v Suzuki came out with their first liquid cooled bike in 1981 with the RM125. It was a revolutionary bike. Thankfully for my pride in Suzuki, they put the radiator in the right place unlike Yamaha.
@@vintageadventurerrides i thought it was 82 , im just going by memory . yeah my brother had a r m 125 , and i had a 1979 r m 80 , back then we like suzuki too . Mark barnett was the suzuki rider for moto cross , he was real good . i thought yamaha came out with radiators first ,, I just remember that radiator on their Handle bars
@@MichaelLyons-h4i The DG pipe is already installed. The airbox is stock, though. I'm looking for an aftermarket single element air box for improved air flow. I hate drilling out stock parts that aren't made anymore. The internals are stock as far as I'm aware, but the bike is plenty enough for me to try to wrangle.
Gotta luv that sound, two stroke music. I'm nearly 60 now, I still ride my 1982 YZ 490.
There's nothing like the ound of a big bore two stroke.
One of the best machines ever made.
Double jump 465..that full floater soaked it up no problem. 👍
The Full Floater truly works wonders.
Awesome bike brother well done mate
Great job. With just a little more twist on the that throttle and your landing in the jump sweet spots..
Yeah, motocross is certainly not my strong suit. I'm definitely better at racing the trails.
I used to marvel at Jeff Ward man handling a KX 500 and he’s a small guy and they ain’t no joke. Nice bike bro
The rm465 is pretty easy to ride, but it's a lot of bike for me at 5'8" and 158 lbs.
the bike sounds like its got a lot more power to give

You did just fine 👍

@@vintageadventurerrides thanks that means alot
I had a RM 80 back then , I would touch a 465 with a 10 foot pole , 465s were monster motorcycles

Noice!!!
nice!
Cool old bike just ride it like you stole it.
I love cr "s but these bikes could kill you just as quick 😮 in it's day it wasn't for faint hearted !? 4:53
Add 2 teeth on rear sprocket it's way too fast like street bike shit
It's already geared down on the front sprocket. I might just give that a shot at some point.
Actually on the RM465 it needed to breathe more. Hog out the ports, slap a DG pipe on her, drill out the air box and rejet the carburetor. Rippa! 👍
