Hope not, i get that it's fast and it will get even faster in the future. But i think that electric dirt bike's take away half of the fun, there is no shifting and no sound. And once you get used to the torque and the power it becomes quite easy to ride, so motocross will require less skill to be fast and it already happend when MX moved from 2 stroke to 4 stroke. Mby i am wrong about this, but i just don't find the same enjoyment from riding electric dirt bikes.
You are actually a very good rider. And you are humble. You are the perfect guy to do these videos and introduce people into the new Era of motocross. Just good old authentic fun. Very refreshing, thank you, keep up the good work.
what i like about e-bikes, Is that once you rid your head from the clutch and gears thoughts, there is room for a smoother and funner riding experience. As an ex desert racer my favorite feature is variable regen (stark doesnt have) I dont even have a rear brake and regen 10hp before the wheel locks.
I just saw 3 of these racing at UK arena cross and 1 won the championship despite being tuned down. Amazing bikes . I’m not sure mixing classes works though as electric is clearly superior in many races and limiting them is only an approximation. Think they should run their own classes at events and run higher power for shorter races .
If you had an electric F-150 for example, you could charge the Stark from the truck battery and keep having fun all day long. Grate video, I Love the way you ride.
What's cool about e-bikes is if you live on a few acres and have neighbors you could still have a track in your backyard without annoying them with noise.
I was suprised to find that a semi-local track only allowed two strokes as their noise does not carry as far, and kept the neighbours away. I never even thought about the fact that, while a two stroke sound would not travel as far. For most a bike like the Stark would have enough juice for a day at the track, and then home to charge.
I live on 1.5 acres and my neighbor has one and it’s still a little noisy when it goes for hours but way better than gas. Not sure I would be thrilled with him having a track though
Having the POV helps put into perspective how fast it is, absolutely ripping. Are you glad you went with the rear brake at your foot? The one I rode it had it at my left hand and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would
Yeah, I am. They gave me the option to have the hand brake if I wanted it as well, but when I tested it in Cali it felt too unnatural. Since I posted this video I’ve also mounted a “fake” clutch lever so I have something to rest my finger on, as the death grip will result in bad habits when I ride my 450.
@@NickTomasunas ur 450 will b collecting dust sooner than u even know. That’s when u might as well do the right thing & donate it to my charity “DOWN-4-LIFE!” so inner city kids ride dirt!
this really puts into perspective how awesome these things are, normally im not the biggest electric bike fan, but this video shows the true potential of the bike and what is possible with it currently. I have one question about it, what is the difference between the Varg and a 450, with the Varg being on the setting you rode the track on in the video.
Very kewl 👍 I got my first dirt bike of many in the 1970s (read: old guy). I was wondering at 80 hp how does the center of gravity feel since the electrical engine doesn’t have the forward mechanical parts moving you have on a big dirt bike. Looks amazing! Congratulations !
Wow. You were flying!!!! Insane speed, what lap times do you get compared to your gas bike? I guess you need to revalve the suspension? Keep those Stark videos coming pls!
How does it feel in terms of stability? I'm curious if removing the gyroscopic effect of the petrol engines rotating mass is noticeable? It seems just a bit less composed in the air, though that could be down to the rides themselves
I want one! I recently bought an electric dirtbike with a 4 speed transmission and a clutch. Tons of torque I dont really need the clutch because I mostly just ride it in second gear.
Is there an acutual break in period for the bike, or are you meaning that you are getting used to it, and will adjust it? While I've not bought a new MX bike in a LONG time, I recall the break in period was so painful to be riding the latest bike and having to all but roll around for a few rides.
Nice bike bro!! What suspension weight setting you end up buying from Stark?? I know you go big! My guess stiffer than average Joes. Like Supercross stiff.
Nice vid! I love the stark! it builds your confidence fast, great in the air, is mental fast and grips the ground like you are riding on sealed road. Would love one to add to my collection
A hybrid 2T would be badass. EV bottom end then let the engine take over when the pipe is happy. It would bring the two worlds together....Or just piss everyone off. But seriously I don't think it would be any heavier than a four stroke.
I own an electric KTM and very happy with it (despite of the fact I Own some crazy 2T bikes). Waiting for Stark or another brand to sell a legal high power enduro bike (lghts, etc) as the KTM.
Seems like an electronic clutch would be pretty easy. Just a circuit to the lever that reduces the power level the farther you pull in the lever. And it could be programmable so you could adjust the "engagement" point etc.
It’s funny every one seems to say it’s got way more than a 450 and there’s only a hand full that can ride one of those I think for the average punter probably not the go
Yea a ton of e bikers think its going to replace it but I just think its going to be an option, gas or electric. gas engines will catch up eventually in horsepower.
U dont care what others think cause u know its superior. Look, it either needs gas or a charge. For those that flat out hate on it just do because they will likely never have an extra 12 Gs is it? Maybe even more. But don’t hate cause u don’t have - cause u can’t hate something u never tried
On Dyno; with electric motor when you start(GAZ) full throttle, like of any kind of motor need to work against enertia; ...at this time, amps, watts up fast, when u obtain the peak, maybe you can read near your 80Hp the time duration of this curve not more then a seconde you CAN'T feel that it's verry fast up and down, down to +-6.7hp in continue that is your real HP🙂😉
The industry will have to do something regarding the sound as that is part of the experience. It needs to emulate the sound of a gas powered motorcycle. Could you imagine going to watch a Supercross without the sound of the bikes?
Well if i want to pay more for an electric bike that i cant play ride on for about 2 maybe 3 hours, which means all day rides are out or even back country riding an worry about it possibly catching fire while charging or even massive overheating while riding.. I know stark an a lot of people are pushing an paying a lot of people big money to say what they want about these things.. but ive seen plenty of reviews by enough people already that show 1. They're not real dependable 2. They dont last long charging wise 3. An aren't cost efficient 4. Can be dangerous because of the battery that if exploded will cause more damage to the environment than gas ever could, cause the fumes are deadly an will kill you! I think ill stick with my 2 or 4 stroke❤❤❤ but great riding man! Dont let money change your opinion from your 1st videos ive seen with you riding these..
I could care less if this is the future of motocross or not. It has a place in the market simply because of the torque. Different animal, not better just different.

@DonGH97 I mean, it's electric, so it's instant and smooth torque. It also can't stall.
@@Fizzglg yeah but still a clutch is very important, especially for enduro. I’ve heard that many pro riders don’t like it
