Nice video. i got a new tailgate to replace the one on my 2006 Silverado that was getting pretty rusty. The only problem I ran into was while dry fitting I accidentally pushed one of the rubber well nuts through the hole into the tailgate. I was doing it by myself. I took the tailgate off. Holding the tailgate and rocking it back and forth trying to intercept the well nut as it rolled by one of the drain holes was a challenge.
I just got 1/4 x28 thread nuts to fit the correct bolt. Take out the handle and latches and you can reach your hand up in thare with a wrench and tighten up. No drilling required.
So when you put the cap on did the holes automatically line up. I got a new cap and it looks like I’m order for me to install it I’d have to pull the plastic down to be able to get it to the holes

I used my thread rivet tool & put the OEM thread & nuts in! About the same price!

What would you recommend to clean the tail gate where the old cap was at near the screws? I’m referring to the line that runs across from the old cap
Why couldn't you use screws provided along with tailgate spoiler?
Because my original nutserts were missing and the original hardware is metric. Did you even watch the video? I said that in the video.

As I recall everything lined up pretty well. I know I didn’t have to fight anything.
