The issue with the church is that many of them no longer preach the word and are obsessed with material things and “itching ear” sermons. Although God loves us all, he STILL hates sin and wants us to turn away & be delivered from whatever sin that is. The Bible is clearly against homosexuality just as it’s opposed to adultery. Neither sin is right in the eyes of God and we as Christians should not “accept” any sin as ok just to appease an unrepentant sinner. We should all be repenting and seeking to change from our sinful ways daily.
Like I said, to me, it makes it clear that this is one of the many cases of man trying to write the God character to fit their beliefs/prejudices. To me, it makes more sense that some guy saw some gay couple and thought, "That's icky, so my god must hate it as well." It makes much more sense than to think a God would lop things like eating shellfish or wearing clothing made out of mixed fabrics under "sin."
This answer is when a Pastor has achieved a certain amount of success and doesn't want to lose it. He's scared to plainly say what the Bible says. Smh.

There needs to be a discussion especially in the Black church on homosexuality. I understand his message of love and acceptance but the word changes. It does not accept sin. That is the issue. However the problem with the Black church is bigotry and hypocrisy because we will accept sin if there is talent or finances involved.

What Bible are you reading? The Bible I read tells us to judge. Matthew 7:1-5 tells us not to be hypocrites when we judge. Never tells us not to judge. It doesn't say homosexuality it says abusers of themselves with mankind. So that means a man who is having abusive sexual behavior with another man. The problem really is people not wanting to Repent. JESUS wants us ALL to repent and turn away from all sin. John 7:24 speaks on not judging based on appearance but with righteous judgement. Meaning judging with the fruits of the spirit. I hate that people try to use this verse to give themselves the go-ahead to pass judgement on others because they never are judging with love, kindness, gentleness, joy, FAITH, etc. It’s always “sin is sin and the Bible says xyz. Instead we should be saying, “I love you, I may not like the way you live your life, but it’s not my place to correct you or cast you aside for it. I’m only here to help you get closer to God so He can make all your paths straight”. Remember “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what MEASURE ye mete, it shall be measured to YOU again” Meaning that same judgment you casted in condemnation is the same one you are going to receive. Pastor Mike sounds like a good motivational speaker or life coach but not a Pastor. The word repent means to turn away from your sins. God does not accept our continuous sinful ways. Homophobia in Christianity? Phobia means having an irrational fear. Disagreeing with homosexual sex is not a phobia. The Bible says sexual immoral should be kicked out of the Church. A person struggling with same sex attraction having homosexual sex would be kicked out, because homosexual sex is sexual immorality. Struggling with same sex attraction is not the sin and not condemned, but it is a sin when you act on the attraction. The Bible says to repent. Jesus Christ can change them in Mark 1:15 "repent (change ones mind) and believe in the Gospel". So they can always stop having homosexual sex. Celibacy is what they need to practice. Jesus Christ should be their new identity. Jesus Christ comes before their same sex attraction.

I'm a law enforcement officer who sees how much officers need to be corrected as well as the defendant. As a human being, I need correction. If we think that we could be more like Christ without Correction, you may not either truly believe in Jesus or love him enough to be corrected by the word of God not the feelings of man. I can at least say that I know what's correct versus what's wrong per the word of God which should be what is used to do the correcting. Feelings can get you eternal hell fire while faith in God and His word can correct you into eternal heaven. Salvation is correction, lest Paul could have been a Bible believing man who crucified Christians with no correction nor change. I kinda see what hes trying to say you have to love people where they are no matter the sin they are dealing with because we all have sin. He does command us to love people even if they gay and even if you dont agree with that lifestyle. I'm not a drug addict but I can still love them and still show humanity. You do have to get to the point where you want to turn away, but it doesn't not always follow a straight li ne to stop sin especially ones that are sexual in nature be it fornication or homesexuality or porn addiction. And 100% agree on acceptable sin when he said the pregnant girl is made to sit down but the father of that same child is ok to do anything in the church OR as long as someone is sleeping around and as long as you dont get pregnant it's ok make it make sense. I know hes not lying because I was the young pregnant girl made to stop being in the choir meanwhile a whole minister was still allowed to preach and he had a baby on the way (not married) .

When folks say they are trying to live the two great commandments, as prescribed by Jesus, of loving God and neighbor (to include enemies) as themselves or to, as Jesus also declared, get the log out of our eyes before we tell someone there is a speck in theirs, Christians are the first ones to go on the attack. I don’t know this pastor. But, all I heard was that he is trying to love and live from a place of humility and point people to God. He admits he doesn’t know all of the answers. Jesus was even willing to admit when he didn’t know something or made a mistake, like saying, “Not even the Son of Man knows the day…” and when he called the Syrophoenician woman a dog and said he didn’t come for people, but then changed his mind when she used his own teachings as a justification for giving her what she asked for. But, religious folks, like the folks who constantly came after Jesus and the disciples for little things like not washing their hands are all about having all the right answers and being legalistic and condemning folks, as if calling someone else dirty makes them clean. But the word y’all keep talking about says, “Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.” That’s what it sounds like this dude is saying. Condemnation doesn’t cover anything. It simply reveals our hearts. You can disagree in love. I’m disagreeing with some folks up here in love right now. But, if in your heart we want people to suffer to make ourselves feel righteous then, Jesus who some say they follow, says, “The judgement you measure out to others will come back on you.” So, who here wants God to judge us the way we judge others? Because it’s coming. Again, I don’t know this dude. But, as a former pastor myself, I’ve seen some things. And this dude strikes me as being genuine and willing to own his failings, know his limitations and meet people where they are. You can’t ask too much more from a 21st Century Minister. People are hurting in this world. We don’t need more people kicking folks while they’re down. We need love, good counsel, grace, and instruction. The disciples walked with Jesus daily in the flesh and were still pretty clueless. What makes so many of us think we got this on lock?
The issue with the church is that many of them no longer preach the word and are obsessed with material things and “itching ear” sermons. Although God loves us all, he STILL hates sin and wants us to turn away & be delivered from whatever sin that is. The Bible is clearly against homosexuality just as it’s opposed to adultery. Neither sin is right in the eyes of God and we as Christians should not “accept” any sin as ok just to appease an unrepentant sinner. We should all be repenting and seeking to change from our sinful ways daily.

There needs to be a discussion especially in the Black church on homosexuality. I understand his message of love and acceptance but the word changes. It does not accept sin. That is the issue. However the problem with the Black church is bigotry and hypocrisy because we will accept sin if there is talent or finances involved.
He’s not changing the word, he’s actually abiding by the word. The Bible urges believers to walk in love and kindness first and let him be the judge and the one to change people. Love can do more within a person’s heart than condemnation.

What Bible are you reading? The Bible I read tells us to judge. Matthew 7:1-5 tells us not to be hypocrites when we judge. Never tells us not to judge. The Bible also says to judge righteously. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 in KJV says abusers of themselves with mankind won't inherit the Kingdom of God. It doesn't say homosexuality it says abusers of themselves with mankind. So that means a man who is having abusive sexual behavior with another man. So a man who is having anal sex with a man won't inherit Heaven. This is a great message. God called us to love everyone, not judge. We spread the gospel and the Holy Spirit will do the work.

John 7:24 speaks on not judging based on appearance but with righteous judgement. Meaning judging with the fruits of the spirit. I hate that people try to use this verse to give themselves the go-ahead to pass judgement on others because they never are judging with love, kindness, gentleness, joy, FAITH, etc. It’s always “sin is sin and the Bible says xyz. Instead we should be saying, “I love you, I may not like the way you live your life, but it’s not my place to correct you or cast you aside for it. I’m only here to help you get closer to God so He can make all your paths straight”. Remember “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what MEASURE ye mete, it shall be measured to YOU again” Meaning that same judgment you casted in condemnation is the same one you are going to receive. Pastor Mike sounds like a good motivational speaker or life coach but not a Pastor. The word repent means to turn away from your sins. God does not accept our continuous sinful ways. His son died for it. If drug dealers, practicing homosexuals, robbers or liars don’t repent they are under the judgement of God. It’s not a matter of whether the church or the pastor accepts them. The question is whether God accepts their sin. He doesn’t. We offend a Holy God when we claim Him as our Father but live casually in sin. The road to eternal life is a strait and narrow road and few are going to find it but the road to eternal darkness is a wide road and many are going to be on it. Preaching on Hell is very unpopular these days but it is in the Bible for a reason.

Maybe you as an individual practice loving thy neighbor. But I’ve seen and heard plenty of violence inflicted on people from that community by black people for no reason. There’s a whole bunch of brothers (of all ages) saying “no homo” or “pause” after every word they say. On top of that, homophobic language has been used in music, church, laws, etc. To be clear, black people are not the only group of people who are homophobic. But if we’re talking about our community we have to be honest.

Accepted in church and sin being accepted by God are 2 different things. The job of the church is to let people know what God says about an issue. Because if you accept Christ and accept he loves you and died for you..and freed and cleansed you from ALL unrighteousness. Homophobia in Christianity? Phobia means having an irrational fear. Disagreeing with homosexual sex is not a phobia. The Bible says sexual immoral should be kicked out of the Church. A person struggling with same sex attraction having homosexual sex would be kicked out, because homosexual sex is sexual immorality. Struggling with same sex attraction is not the sin and not condemned, but it is a sin when you act on the attraction. The Bible says to repent. Jesus Christ can change them in Mark 1:15 "repent (change ones mind) and believe in the Gospel". So they can always stop having homosexual sex. Celibacy is what they need to practice. Jesus Christ should be their new identity. Jesus Christ comes before their same sex attraction.
Don't live in open rebellion. Pray for those who do to find The LORD JESUS CHRIST. We have to pick a side and not staddle the fence. We as a people can't come together until we are all in agreement. Can we at least agree that JESUS CHRIST is KING and that he died for us all, not so we can continue in sin but so we can turn from it.

Love and truth work together. Jesus's love never separated truth from love. People have to be loved in truth. If people get upset about Biblical Jesus based love, than that don't understand love and truth.
Human beings need accountability and correction. Without God's word and love, we can just love people with our feelings. If Jesus would have listened to His feelings, salvation wouldn't exist. Faith over feelings not feelings over faith. Real church loves through faith not merely through our feelings. Believers in God should desire truth not human flawed feelings, as the Bible states that the heart is deceitfully wicked.

Correction is necessary to human health. I'm a law enforcement officer who sees how much officers need to be corrected as well as the defendant. As a human being, I need correction. If we think that we could be more like Christ without Correction, you may not either truly believe in Jesus or love him enough to be corrected by the word of God not the feelings of man. I can at least say that I know what's correct versus what's wrong per the word of God which should be what is used to do the correcting. Feelings can get you eternal hell fire while faith in God and His word can correct you into eternal heaven.
Salvation is correction, lest Paul could have been a Bible believing man who crucified Christians with no correction nor change. Watch out for the Christian church that says that change/ correction is not necessary.

I kinda see what hes trying to say you have to love people where they are no matter the sin they are dealing with because we all have sin. He does command us to love people even if they gay and even if you dont agree with that lifestyle. I'm not a drug addict but I can still love them and still show humanity. You do have to get to the point where you want to turn away, but it doesn't not always follow a straight li ne to stop sin especially ones that are sexual in nature be it fornication or homesexuality or porn addiction. And 100% agree on acceptable sin when he said the pregnant girl is made to sit down but the father of that same child is ok to do anything in the church OR as long as someone is sleeping around and as long as you dont get pregnant it's ok make it make sense. I know hes not lying because I was the young pregnant girl made to stop being in the choir meanwhile a whole minister was still allowed to preach and he had a baby on the way (not married) .

When folks say they are trying to live the two great commandments, as prescribed by Jesus, of loving God and neighbor (to include enemies) as themselves or to, as Jesus also declared, get the log out of our eyes before we tell someone there is a speck in theirs, Christians are the first ones to go on the attack. I don’t know this pastor. But, all I heard was that he is trying to love and live from a place of humility and point people to God. He admits he doesn’t know all of the answers. Jesus was even willing to admit when he didn’t know something or made a mistake, like saying, “Not even the Son of Man knows the day…” and when he called the Syrophoenician woman a dog and said he didn’t come for people, but then changed his mind when she used his own teachings as a justification for giving her what she asked for. But, religious folks, like the folks who constantly came after Jesus and the disciples for little things like not washing their hands are all about having all the right answers and being legalistic and condemning folks, as if calling someone else dirty makes them clean. But the word y’all keep talking about says, “Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.” That’s what it sounds like this dude is saying. Condemnation doesn’t cover anything. It simply reveals our hearts. You can disagree in love. I’m disagreeing with some folks up here in love right now. But, if in your heart we want people to suffer to make ourselves feel righteous then, Jesus who some say they follow, says, “The judgement you measure out to others will come back on you.” So, who here wants God to judge us the way we judge others? Because it’s coming. Again, I don’t know this dude. But, as a former pastor myself, I’ve seen some things. And this dude strikes me as being genuine and willing to own his failings, know his limitations and meet people where they are. You can’t ask too much more from a 21st Century Minister. People are hurting in this world. We don’t need more people kicking folks while they’re down. We need love, good counsel, grace, and instruction. The disciples walked with Jesus daily in the flesh and were still pretty clueless. What makes so many of us think we got this on lock?
