Edit: The predecessor was offered with an automatic option. We incorrectly say in the video this new model is the first auto.
Also, we now realise there is no centre diff. We didn't know what the LSD-type function was called during the time of filming, so we incorrectly kept referring to it as a 'centre diff'. Suzuki officially calls it a "brake LSD traction control" system.
    Our apologies for these errors.

Thank you, very good review. Re: the traction control/diff. It has no centre diff at all, just a locked driveline front/rear in 4wd mode. It uses the traction control to brake a spinning wheel per axle, to load up the opposite one on the same axle. Very much similar to the Freelander 1/Discovery 2 traction control. Yes the Jimny does look capable, although not really any different to a stock Defender 90 or Jeep Wrangler.

@@Roxak Thanks for the feedback. We will try harder next time to produce free content for you.
Keep in mind we are getting in and out of new vehicles multiple times a week. It can be hard to learn every single thing about a car, every time. Also keep in mind we run a very small team here (we don't have researchers and editorial assistants like the other big channels). We also maintain a website and do all editing in-house.
In saying that, if we owned the car or had one over a longer period we're sure we could provide more facts for you. Alternatively, our written reviews are usually a lot more factual as we have time to sit down and check all the facts as we write.
In the end all we can do is apologise for this. It is simply the best we can do. If it's not good enough, perhaps you should check out the other channels on RUclips.

I’m glad you enjoyed the Jimny, ai love your reviews and tests, I enjoy seeing cars I’ve never considered buying but seeing my own car be reviewed so well is fantastic, most reviewers don’t appreciate it for what it is and focus on it’s highway performance, I’m glad you were able to experience it off-road, If only you could own it for a month or so! I’ve had mine for 2 months and 8000+km and I keep finding little quirks and features that weren’t in the previous models or any other car for that matter.
Also, for the short period you had the Jimny did you notice people on the roads / car parks checking the Jimny out or taking photos? The kintetic yellow isn’t the most flattering but it’s still a Jimny, everywhere I go in my Jungle green Jimny I get looks, it turns heads on freeways, it makes people toot horns, every time I enter a store I come out to someone waiting by the Jimny to ask questions.
It’s a stunning car and a pleasure to drive even with a few short coming on road but I wouldn’t have it any other way, Just glad you enjoyed it.

Just back from travelling 10 countries in one journey, sleeping at mountaintops in my rooftent, Jimny equiped with fridge/freezer, complete kitchen, hot shower etc etc... climbed the craziest rocks and drove through deep lakes, fully loaded, not even one single problem! A little bit slower than my 300bhp Golf, but still best buy ever! 😎🤙🏻💕
    Fyi:
About turning off auto-brake on difficult tracks: On difficult tracks, we use Low gear, which also switches off all safety systems! 🙄
This color is not only two-tone, it excists in single color.
The 2 fake buttons in the center console, are seat heating in mine, but we don't have a rear viewing camera (Belgium).
To end: It shows in everything you say... running the clutch, not a lot of torque, etc... that you haven't discovered low-gear 1st! 😂 A whole new world will open, I assure you 😋

Absolutely fantastic display offloading that machine. I know that most people would not want to go through the hassle of a custom frame to make the Jimny a full body on frame vehicle but I did a mid 80s Samurai on a modified and boxed chassis with a 4" body and 6" suspension lift a GM 2.8 v-6 and 5 speed manual transmission swap and put it on offset 15" rims with 33" A/T tires. We called it the Big Toe because it looked like a 1/4 scale Monster Truck. It was a serious offroad machine that also had pretty decent highway capability post build. The GM powerplant and gearbox made for a much needed boost in power and let's just say that merging onto the interstate was no longer a cringing event. It would be like slapping a stock v-8 into an S-10 that had been powered by a 2.8 v-6 it suddenly became a rocket. Take a vehicle that weighs roughly 1100 kilos and give it a 115 horsepower under the hood which was nearly doubling the power it scoots along nicely. I wish that Suzuki was still marketed in the USA because I would love to get my hands on one of these new Jimny SUVs and build another Hot Wheels offroader. With some of the 1.5 Turbo configurations today making nearly 200 HP or more it would be a fun little Ute that would take me back to my teenage years. I miss the Micro 4x4s that were imported in the late 70s and 80s; they were basic as it got, didn't cost a whole bunch and made for awesome adventure machines when Frankensteined together with some mad science. Please Suzuki come back to the USA I need a Jimny in my life.

    G'Day mate, nice video !
I think the new one seems to have a bit more power than my 1.3 on the highway.
In the 2015 1.3l, the secret to that first big hill going north towards Gosford from Hornsby is to hit the right hand lane in 5th full blast @ 120, Push 5th until you hit 115, down shift to 4th which will hold 110 but look to get left because at the top you will be barely 110 in 4th.
On the upside, dont be afraid to use 2wd when off road with the traction control off to feel the best and most dangerous sideways feeling driving experience ever.
The 210mm over the 190mm of the my15 would suggest you dont need the 60mm coil lift to cut even with a full size. This will save you 2 grand of emu, rancho or your prefered.
Less plastic outside to round off the edges gives a retro look of 70s which I like. The 2015 looked like an early 1990s vitara body kit on an 80s looking car. More flares than an slr5000 torana.
Great 4x4 in Australia for AU$24,000. I would question very deeply why these cost AU$30,000 (£15,990) in the UK ?
Since the demise of the much loved daihatsu company the Jimny Sierra is the vehicle class downunder.

Thank you for such a comprehensive and 'to the point' review!
ButI really just have to say... There's no center differential in the Jimny, it's a transfer case. A transfer case can either send 50% of the torque to the front wheels, or disengage them completely.
That means that if it's in 4x4 mode the front and rer wheels will spin at the same speed no matter what, also around corners which is why you should never use 4x4 on the road or any high traction surface for that matter.

Suzuki no longer sell cars Stateside, cause The American Consumer Report made a "Fake New" review of the Jimny. Suzuki sue the publishing company and won the case and American Consumer Report paid millions to Suzuki for the damages they incured with their fake review, but Suzuki decided to stop selling their products except the motorcycles in the US but the Jimny is sold anywhere in the world and have become very very successfull
