I was always confused as to why networks would label him a “Republican strategist” or “Republican pollster” when just about everything he said or supported were Democrat talking points.

Puzzled! There is a group of people running this country, mainly Democrats but they promote/elevate their plants within the republican party. They control both parties. These plants becomes useful when they're needed on TV so they can use the label " Republican strategist". This worked perfectly in 2020 election cycle.

Unfortunately as Tucker said months ago and as Trump said in his CPAC speech, it's the only power center we have right now against the feckless Dems. Abandoning the Republican Party and starting a new party will just divide the anti-Dem vote.

But I think Trump is right in that if we abandon the Republican Party and start a populist party now, the Dems will likely win in the mid-terms and in 2024. They still have enormous power over the vote counting too, so we need every vote to overcome their shenanigans.
