- 100 years of Sophie Scholl: Sophie Scholl was 20 when she joined the White Rose resistance. The group printed anti-Nazi pamphlets until their 1943 arrest and execution. May 9th marks 100 years since her birth! We honor her, and the brave souls around her.

Watching a PBS story on the rise of the Nazis' and it tells a bit about this courageous young woman. Needed to know more about her and her horrifying beheading. What an inspiring story.

May we forever remember the short life of Sophie Scholl and her courageous sacrifice in the face of evil. It’s was her birthday today 103 years ago and she came onto this world to make it a better place and was brutally executed by the Nazi’s for her peaceful protest.
Amazing people. It would be interesting to learn more about food, culture, traditions, notable people, passions etc. I also think it would be interesting to learn more about the various consulates in the America, what they do and what they enjoy about the states that they serve.

Every year about this time I think of the bravery and courage of a gifted and talented young girl and that her brother who recognised the evils of Hitler’s regime and took steps by peaceful means to draw the attention of their fellow students to resist the Nazi’s. Had she have survived the War she would undoubtedly rose to become a force for good in Germany and likely the rest of Europe. Such is the pity, May God bless Sophie Scholl.
