I still have my VHS of Miss Rose White, that should indicate how I lived this movie. The acting is superb and pulls on every heart string of human emotion.

Who was the lighting director on this film? Whoever it was should have been replaced, unless uploading the original caused a glitch somehow. It is simply too dark to watch, at least for me. The rest of you, carry on.

Love brings people together. Love keeps people together. Love is strong but also fragile. Handle it with care and respect and kindness.
This movie makes me cry. My best teacher eas Jewish so I always appreciate and advocate against antisemitism. I love this movie and the dinner with the Weiss family and how rose goes to her real name , Weiss. Lucias husband returns to her and she never gives up hope. Ptsd yet hope. Prayers for peace in Jerusalem always. Shalom I love you, " love does not die"

You must have missed the part where Lucia explains how her mother died. Her mother was healthy, and was put to work in the camp. Lucia, was sick, and one day, Lucia was put in line with others who were feeble, to taken to the gas chambers, for "euthanasia". Her mother spirited Lucia away, and took her place in line. The girls' mother sacrificed herself, so that Lucia could live on.

Escalators in tbe 40s??? Really? Oh come on!
The first ever patent for an escalator in the United States was given to Nathan Ames for revolving stairs. Next was patented in 1892 by Jesse W. Reno and then redesigned by Charles Seeberger in 1897 and produced in Yonkers, New York. Seeberger called it an escalator in 1900....taken from the history of the escalator on the internet. Really! There are more articles if you want to do the research on it.
