Trying out trading strategies?
I'd like to see you try trading something other than ES and NQ. Doesn't have to be a perma switch, more like a one off video where you attempt it for a week or something. You could try Oil, Gas, Gold or something completely different. Just throw yourself into something unfamiliar and see how you do with the experience you have. Again, not a perma switch. Just something to spice things up once in a while.
I just want to see you try and reach the 20k

Keep it up! As a trader of 2 years, I'm also still making mistakes, but constantly learning and improving. Never give up!
Congrats Daniel, have been following the series since the start hated waiting months for the release of each video, but this made it well worth it. I myself got funded twice on 150k, saddley blew them both. Hope you have better luck then me!!

what i discovered my friend it is this one things for everyone to learn,:
because you are a new trader like me (new trader is anyone up to 4 years) that the best way to approach profitability faster and have something going on, it is to have a more mechanical approach where your opinion does not matter. if you had 20 years experience than i would say yeah go man 30% mechanical and 70% decision from you, but in this case i would keep 80% mechanical and maybe 20 decisional. So for the runner keep it mechanical, easy to follow and if it break something you are out. More mechanical, less emotionals, and trust me even if you had it 100% mechanical, you are gonna fucked it up, good luck everyone and survive!

Hey so this exact same thing happened to me where I was trading a "main account" and taking really good setups on a "second account".
Guess what? I passed on my second account (TradeDay) with flying colors. Now I'm trying to replicate that with my funded account but already in drawdown because I started treating it like a "main account"

it's funny how that works with changing to a larger account, I did the same thing and out of the blue I stopped pushing so hard and left a lot of the garbage trades behind. I think it's something that we all value our time according to what we're used to make working a 9to5 and if we don't see that same output per day they we start questioning our self and the whole trading part as well. At least that's my 2 cents.

Wow! That was quite a roller coster... but the end justifies the means ...it does'nt matter how soon or late one passes these combines.. I just passed my 100k with Apex...in relative shorter time ..8 days..but ..you know sustainability is what matters...long term outlook ..not a one time hit.

I really like you Dan and have followed your channel since pre-trading (I trade too!). One of the most important rules of trading is to look after your physical health. Sleep well, eat well, exercise properly. It really REALLY helps! I hope you're doing that.

Hi trader bro. I think that if you lower the position size so that you could keep your stop below structure your stop doesnt get hit so much and you would profit more....Keeping in mind that then you also have to take higher quality positions that goes 🚀example:breaking bigger obvisious levels.

Awesome man, congrats. I've been grinding on my challenge since May. Break-even, forever. I've only ever taken and passed one challenge before and even though I didn't know what I was doing, I passed in two weeks - then blew up the funded account before my first payout. This time around, I want to learn properly. So, even though it's taking me ages to reach my target, I hope I'll know how to trade by the time I get funded. Glad to see you finding results after putting so much into it.

This is what trading should be. Not the millionaire money. Real money Real freedom. It's like you fight for your freedom. I found myself really depressed with todays job. It doesnt give you any meaning nor even enough money plus you overwork on the things you dont like. I try to become a consistent profitable trader and note my psychs and trades everyday. Youre mad or a genius if you could remember all your failure and lessons. Trading is like improving yourself too.
Hey Daniel, great to see you made it to the funded level! Ive done a very similar video series on my channel with the 50k combine back in nov of 2023. But am now starting 2024 with the 150k combine. on day 4 as of tomorrow 12/05/24. Would love to collaborate on a video or series in the future on trader psychology as a funded trader and/or strategies that help funded traders stay in the game and not lose their accounts! Cheers!

Not sure if you’ve noticed… but this happen to me this week. I stopped trading ES and started training NQ and I passed in two days. After 2 years of trading ES. Trying staying with NQ. 1 contract. Go up 3-500. Then go to 2 contracts. ES just isn’t it… good luck trading brother

question: so when you pass the combine you dont have to pay the monthly fee anymore? you just pay $149 and use a new sim account to generate payouts from topstep. another question can you blow this account once youve passed or is there still the loss limit?. sorry if this is obvious stuff.. im kinda new

Daniel, I watched your video and first of all, I’d like to congratulate you on your progress thus far.
Secondly, I would highly recommend you the book I’m reading now, by Jared Tendler: “The mental game of trading”. I noticed some mistakes in your psychology which can certainly be addressed with the ideas and processes you will read about in this book. No plug, I’ve nothing to gain from this, just trying to help a fellow trader on the come-up.
Best of luck with your trading, I hope you manage to keep your emotions in check with the live trades! Normally that’s much more challenging than in sim.

It's very clear that the best trades from the video were the ones where you stayed patient and let the plan play out... the market is designed to trick you!!! Trust your initial plan and only cut when the trade thesis is proven invalid... be patient with healthy pullbacks/pops... Plan the trade and trade the plan! Godspeed

Congrats mate! Been a great series to watch. I’m curious if you made more profit from runners or the first scale out, seemed like the runners were giving back profits for a while there.
a few runners have really paid off, but usually it's from the first exit.
@@DanielInskeep yeah they seem to be like that. From my backtesting of my strategies I much rather the smoother equity curve of a single exit. It also messed with my phycology when the runner doesn’t work out, makes my winning trades feel like losers.

im only have way through the video but had to note this. I just finished the Mental Game of Trading, and when you started talking about making $1,100 or 7K a week and how thats 160k i wonder if greed was the ultimate factor in the bad trades that followed. Slowly creeping up in the back of your head, just the thought of if i make this i get x amount yearly
in this case, no, because i'm not actually thinking about making money in the combine.
You are an inspiration man! Loved your non-advertorial approach to the process as other YT traders seem to only advertise the combine/prop firms by showing how 'easy' it is. It was watching your videos as to why I got into trading and now working my way slowly through it to hopefully pass the combine myself. The combine you passed , did you have loosing days. What i have found is when someone passes combine with small or no trade days and only winners in rest of days, they tend to blow up in XFA accounts. I am going to wait for your next videos about your first payout video from the XFA account trading.

Just read the FAQ on this trading website. What’s the advantage here over just using your own money? The whole, you can only take out this much out after this amount of winning days seems absurd. If you’re gone for a month then they’ll close your account and keep your money. Just seems odd.

Hope you make it out alive, trading is just like gambling. You feel like you try to control some variable but at the end. It is just a gamble.
Just my opinion, but when a trader is unable to withdraw their money from a great month, they have more to lose and mistakes are common place. But you know what you have improved so much from last year. More winning trades. Better at the stragety you are using.
People just don’t get that when you have a 150k acc what you really got is a 9k acc….losing on the first trade more than 10% of your drawdown…it will not work in the long run.
Yea, that's why I started in the 50k , that 9k is hard to reach when you only think you know what you're doing 😂

Congrats man most people would have given up after some time. I myself been in 50k combine for 4 months. I would get to within 500 buck in three days then hit DLL on 4th and 5th day. On Friday the 8th I decided today is the if hit DLL once would be the end of my future trading pursuit. What you I took a break out trade at 5:30 with 3 es mini and bam 1540 wtf. Lmk what you think about that. Ty
well the most important is that you learned that winning streaks can be really dangerous even more than losing streaks try always to stay humble with the market

Coming from a professional trader my advice is pick an overall direction and wait for opportunities to enter a trade that will profit in the direction you pick. Having to get in/out the same day is virtually impossible to do over time. With major indexes over time they all go up so why do anything but enter long trades. Commodities you can do much more long/short swapping since they are largely range bound. Good luck hope it works out for everyone.
