This is an early version of the QSK 60 Dual Stage Cummins Engine.... Just a few things that they have improved over the last few years are: (starting from the front). Revised Gear Train Gears. Updated Thermostat Housing. New Rocker Boxes (with lager water tubes). Double O-Ring L.T.A Pipes. Cast Iron After Coolers. Deleted Block Stiffener. New Style Con Rods. Fully Counterweighted Crankshaft. One Piece Pistons. Updated Valves. New Crossheads. Two Piece Fuel Rails...They are a great engine and now they are even better with M.C.R.S.
And is used in komatsu pc 4000, pc 8000, liebherr rh 400, Hitachi 3500, hitachi 3600, euclid 3500 haul trucks... cummins engines are used in a lot of equipments. i'm a cummins technician from el cerrejon Colombia.
@2008FORDF450V8 It would be underpowered for a SD40-2 because it has less than 3000 hp. The smaller QSK60 engines would be more likely to be found in Green Goat switchers.
All engines are inherently the same but there are significant differences between QSK60 and 3500. There are many differences even in the setup. How do I know ?? I have built both these engines.

That's quite interesting- two-piece pistons and bolt-on counterweights on the crankshaft.

How much adjust clerence Valve intake excaust bro
@@ingotpaung8043 The specification is:
Intake: 0.014"
Exhaust: 0.032"
The injector needs to be adjusted to 168 in/lb.
Is also used on Terex(bucyrus) RH 400 as well
I've serviced several here in South Oklahoma. The radiator fan will suck-out anything unsecured, in a enclosed area, and send it to the shroud.
@JCTech012 wow thats ALOT of turbos! what kind of vehicle is this for? is it a freight train?

EMD's 16-645 (the engine that was put in SD40-2s) is much larger than QSK60 cummins
Yeah, I lost count of the turbos on the first run through. It has 8 turbos in 2 stages. Put that in your Civic and smoke it.
thank you very much for this vidoe..it helped very much..,,;););)
If I could build one like that my hands probably wouldn't hurt so bad at the end of the day.

Diesel locomotives
i hope that the engine is better then the music.
“Then” the music? It’s THAN!
hola muy interesante quisiera saber el numero de serie del motor les agradecería un montón
I wonder if this Cummins V16 Turbo Diesel would fit in a EMD SD40-2 Locomotive
QSK95
Easily, it's like a quarter of the size of a 645
@@scenicdepictionsofchicagolife nice man good to know thanks for the reply
What is the music?
Generic RUclips supplied music
@@johnchristensen8582 that's pretty good for "generic"
