    The rear sight is actually your elevation adjustment. Counter clockwise will raise point of impact.

      The rear sight is for both windage and elevation.

    Went to the range earlier today and got it Zeroed in perfectly! Thanks again! I was curious if you could run me through how you set up your scope on it. Sorry for asking for so much I’m a fresh newbie so I’m clueless on a lot beyond how to break down and clean 😅

      Actually it's not a scope it's a red dot. Red dot is actually no magnification but simply 1 small red dot. Once you zero it in, where you put the dot is where you hit. I got it because the sights are so low I can't wear my favorite hearing protection and it' just more ergonomic to use. I'm working on a video on the red dot it will be up soon. If you want to put on a scope or red dot, your going to need a rail for it. Keep in mind it's not very long so a scope might be a problem. Anyway I'll put a link in the description for the rail when video get's posted. Glad you got your HK zeroed, it is fun to shoot.

      Video on set up has been posted. Once again I hope this is helpful.

    Great video!
    I think my rear sight was messed up, would only turn one way and it got stuck once. So I took it apart, now it’s shooting center high!
    I’m going to keep tinkering with it, but it was shooting fine out the box. I was hitting my steel target fine at around 70 yards last night

      Thanks for the comment. I put a rail and a red dot on mine for shorter distance. Video here if interested.ruclips.net/video/_jlVgLRDcmc/видео.html

      @@Scott67 awesome! I got the claw rail off Amazon for 20 bucks and some change.
      How’s the crimson trace sight? I’ve got a Romeo 5 on a CMR30 but I’d like a second sight. We sell the CT at my job

    The ‘holes’ are actually called ‘apertures’.

    What kind of paint did you use for your front sight? I want to do the same

    • @Scott67
      @Scott67  6 месяцев назад

      I think I used "Wite out". If I had to do over I think I would use nail polish. Polish is probably easier to remove in case you wanted to.

    Is it possible to co-witness the iron sights with a red dot?

    • @Scott67
      @Scott67  2 года назад +2

      I don't think so but you can put a red dot with a riser that will allow you to use both. ruclips.net/video/_jlVgLRDcmc/видео.html

      It’s possible with a specific montage eg a low profile montage from B&T

    • @FishKepr
      @FishKepr 2 года назад

      Yes, it’s possible with a low mount like a Battle Steel. I have mine set up that way.

      Yes, with a vortex crossfire red dot on the high profile mount

      Yes several make mounts that low.

    Can you adjust up and down?

    • @Scott67
      @Scott67  2 года назад +2

      Yes. But keep in mind you can't set these sites for a short distance. I tried to set my rear sight for 30 yards and still couldn't get on the bullseye because I needed to go lower.

    I love the MP5 platform, but its height over bore (specially with tall mount optics) brings problems not common to most .22lr rifles.
    At what range do you zero your iron sights?
    I zeroed mine at 5m/5.5yd at first and it became useless at any other range, shooting way too high.
    Then zeroed it to 10m/11yd and now it shoots one inch low at very close targets but still hits 3" metal targets.
    Since the front post covers most of the bullseye at longer distances, i decided to zero the red dot (have a set up just like yours, see through tall mount) at 25m/27.5yd. It shoots lower at closer distances, but it only becomes a problem for 3" targets at 10m/11yd or closer (requiring hold over).
    So my zeroes and hold overs stand as of right now:
    5m/5.5 yd: iron sights, bullseye aim hits the bottom of a 3" target, hold over not necessary for metal.
    10m/11yd: iron sights, bullseye aim hits ZERO.
    15m/17.5yd: gray zone, iron sights hit the top and red dot the bottom of a 3" target, hold over red dot preferable.
    20m/22yd: red dot, bullseye aim hits 1" low, hold over not necessary for metal.
    25m/27.5yd: red dot, bullseye aim hits ZERO.
    Longer distances: red dot, second zero not found yet (possibly 40-50 m/yd with 80-100 MPBR), no hold under likely necessary for 3" targets.
    I'm considering changing the iron sights zero to 15m/17.5yd since I might still be able to hit the bottom of a 3" target at closer distances even without any hold over.
    ps: mine MP5-22's front sight does not come with that screw to change it, I would have to take down its carcass completely to remove the front post / barrel band assembly. This is probably featured only in Walther replicas intended for the US market, since mine is the European version (at least It has the proper barrel length, without the necessity of a faux suppressor / barrel shroud).
    Cheers.

      Sorry for slow response and thanks for sharing your experience. I have not shot mine in a while. I do remember on day 1 that I wasn't happy with the iron sights and got a rail and red dot pretty quick. When it comes to zero I usually go with 25 yards.

      @ I will try zeroing the iron sights at a longer range next weekend. thanks!
