She went to his house and they had a conversation and he would only allow her to cover it under 2 conditions. She had to perform that night for guest he had over at paisley park and the second was she had to promise him that one day she would do everything in her power to own her masters. As of 2021 she owns her masters. Alicia may not be the best singer but at least she sings live without auto tune and she can play the piano. And every artist she comes across and meets, even those that come before her knows that she is talented. Apparently Prince and her remained friends until he died.

Prince loved alicia keys and only women were allowed to sing his songs to honor him on this night. He didn’t perform himself which I was disappointed about at the time because I tuned in just to see him perform this night. When she was 18 her record company wanted her to cover his song “how come you don’t call me anymore” and she had to ask his permission first. She went to his house and they had a conversation and he would only allow her to cover it under 2 conditions. She had to perform that night for guest he had over at paisley park and the second was she had to promise him that one day she would do everything in her power to own her masters. As of 2021 she owns her masters. Alicia may not be the best singer but at least she sings live without auto tune and she can play the piano. And every artist she comes across and meets, even those that come before her knows that she is talented. Apparently Prince and her remained friends until he died.

Sometimes I think people think they're saying something meaningful when in reality that's not the case. I don't think people know what an a**hole he was. I live in his area. He wasn't friendly at all. My wife works for a higher price grocery store. The times he would go there with his shopper(bodyguard), you weren't allowed to talk to him. Even if you said hi, he would do what he could to get you in trouble. The best talented a**hole I ever knew.
As a mother, of 4, your lungs get compressed by the baby, it is harder to sing, you don’t have the wind you’re used to having. She did an amazing job, and straddled a piano while doing it! Get it Alicia!!!
