Nate you are a symbol of hope and a courageous and brilliant human being. You are not alone in your journey although you have trodden a more difficult path than most. Thank you so much for your honesty and rational thought in a confused world of faith. Best wishes

I wonder if he has any idea what had been done to his father that he was so full of hate. I can't help but wonder what his father's childhood was like. I'm amazed that none of his kids ever fought back, or at least called the police. Listening to the stories of the physical and psychological abuse was difficult, but Nate and his family lived it. What kind of society allows parents to beat and terrorize their children? There are a lot of things we have to work on before we can justly be proud to be human.

To watch and hear this man brings a sigh of relief to me. I see more and more people stating that they are Atheist or just simply, like myself, journeying towards religion-free living and being. Whether one was raised in it or not, we have all been indoctrinated in the violent world dominating way of looking at life. The journey out of that is extremely difficult, to say the least. This man is sane and is a reminder that we are all recovering from the cult of religion and world domination. This man's sane and human way of presenting is refreshing. So refreshing. Now we just have to win the race against the armageddonists. It is not just the armageddon that we must stop but also the suffering that will ensue along the way. The way is to heal, heal as people who have suffered abuse need to heal, because that is what the human race and all living things have experienced at the hands of religion. To watch and hear this man is to witness healing and continued journey from violence to sanity. A sigh of relief. A big refreshing and healing sigh of relief.

That was interesting, I am Sorry Nate for all the hate you have had to deal with, but I am glad you were able to get away from it all.

This should give us all a new insight into that family's reality. Is it really their fault about what they do - Following the teachings of an obvious psychopath out of fear and brainwashing techniques? I feel very sorry for them.

The Bible actually says that women are subjected to their husbands AS, at the same time as, the husband loves his wife as Christ loves the church. How did Jesus become the head of the church? He laid down His life for her! This butchering of this particular scripture is unacceptable to society and to God Himself. It disgusts me to hear it.

Your father twisted the Bible at every turn! The Bible doesn’t say anything remotely close to the teachings of the Bible. Second paragraph of Revelation says that your father will not have a good outcome because He repeatedly bastardized everything about God. I do hope he repented at some point but it doesn’t seem so.

If Fred Phelps can repent before he died there is hope for you yet. Nate does not seem like a hateful or vindictive person. But you do.
