- Here is all my attempts at heelfliping Eltoro. This was during the filming of the @birdhouse “Saturdays” video. I tried this in 2018. Hope you all enjoy and go out there and get some.

8 minutes of El Toro attempts is insane. Nobody else is jumping down this thing 10+ times.
If there was a class on skateboarding theory, this is the video they would use to show us tactics for falling well

I'm impressed that Aaron was able to fall so many times and not get seriously injured. Thumbs up for that alone. Those stairs are no joke.

Seriously…I messed my foot up in June kickflipping a small two block at the skateboard skatepark one for skateboarding, I like it. it’s probably like less than three feet tall and I sprained my foot pretty bad….foot turned purple swollen and felt cracking but it wasn’t broken going to physical therapy still hurting couldn’t walk on it for a few weeks AHHHHH my foot bent in the middle backward and was busted bad had to take a A narco the first few nights. Ps: my foot is twitching right now

It’s gut-wrenching seeing the tenacity persist while exhaustion is setting in.
The first several flipped too fast and the later ones too slow. I’ve stuck a lot of heel flips in my day but couldn’t imagine how horrifying it would be to wait for the grip to come around knowing it’s going to hurt whether you land or not.
As much as I’d love to see Jaws roll away from this, it’s much more impressive to see him know when to walk away. When there’s nothing to prove anymore, there’s grace in the failures and admiration for giving it all you have and knowing when the tank’s empty.

I’d also add… it shows how challenging the trick is, considering how much of a beast Aaron is. To my knowledge it still hasn’t been done. I somewhat count joslins 360 flip but that too speaks volumes on how insane the spot is. El toro is textbook gnarly.

He trained his mind to give in to fear. He’s confident in his ability to jump those stairs minus the board. But fear is keeping him from pulling it off. If he lets go of the fear he lands half of those attempts. Everyone on here praising his fail technique. No one sets out to fail. He set out to film himself pulling off that jump. Not only did he give in to fear that day he also gave in to failure by posting this video. If that’s your mindset you might want to move on from the sport. You’re going to find yourself posting videos of yourself bailing on everything.

Joslins tre flip is the biggest heartbreak in skate history. Sooooooo close. He did ride away for 10 feet or so but yeah. Sucks just thinking about it smh
I really can’t count Joslin’s tre flip either. It’s entirely possible he was leaning hard enough to have a late fall but I do think would have rolled away. It’s crazy that this generation has had its best skaters go for a flip down el toro and nobody but Bachinsky to this day, who isn’t even known to be a big gap skater (idk he may have been back then). Joslin, Sheckler, Nyjah. All of them stuck a few attempts and Nyjah was super close on the bs flip. Just shows how fucking gnarly this beast is!
Add Jaws to the list but he never stuck one.
It all just adds to the legacy of Dave Bachinsky's feat.

man no kidding, i remember being in a skateshop in the mall and they had clips playing on the TV, and i saw the clip of bachinsky thinking "WHAT THE FUCK?!" that shit was so clean and insane
Jaws has like 3 tricks down this set including kickflip melon

I don’t think I’d be able to mentally hype myself up to throw myself down this set. Shit throwing myself down 9 stairs is already a mental battle, I couldn’t imagine el toro. Actually trying something down this is an achievement in itself
10 was my max and that was just Ollie in downtown Chicago... I couldn't imagine landing a heel flip lol 😂

Always rad watching you skate, but man you've already proven yourself with hucking huge drops! Don't feel like you have to live up to yourself. As a guy coming off knee surgery that had to end up tearing a ligament or something. I really like seeing the transition skating and street skating, you don't have to go that gnarly anymore! You could skate way under your skill level and it's still sick to watch. Still one of the gnarliest slams I've seen I almost couldn't watch it without my knees hurting! Stay safe man!
agreed. Nothing but respect to Jaws, but he didnt have the Heelflip for El Toro. None of the attempts stuck under his feet mid air. To me it looks like he was waaay to scare to commit or does not have that trick under control for this kind of height. Jaws didn't need to strain himself so much he already proved to everyone several times before in other gnarly spots that he is gnarly.

You are aware jaws did a better kick flip with a melon grab. Landed perfectly, Broke his tail. and rode away clean like nothing happened.
