This is perfect. Thank you. This is the reason I began studying herbalism independently. I have suffered for decades at the hands of well meaning physicians: steroid dependents and eventual psychosis, sulfa allergies, antibiotic resistance and gut leakage, cytokine storms... yes, plural. I'm lucky to be alive and I'm blessed to be thriving and pharmaceutical free. It's this concept of "the whole plant has the cure for the side effects of it's parts." I live this! Eventually, I'm going to have the ability to attend your school... I pray it'll still be available once I get the funds set aside. Meanwhile, I read, read, study and ready. So, Thank You Doc Jones and to the lovely Homestead Families that introduced us. Merry Christmas and God Bless.

@@Dhdjfhsjcjz4914 No joke! Told member of Oncology team while anticipating results from an MRI that "I am eating very holistically, so hoping it didn't grow." He transcribed that simple statement into "Patient does not believe she has cancer and states she is going to cure herself holistically" .
When it hadn't grown they met and said, "We're all shocked it hasn't grown at all -Your Not taking any supplements are you?"
It was as if I would have been passed over for care if I wasn't listening to them. "Don't take any supplements, don't use any spices, don't go on the internet" AS/IF"
Answer to that was; "Of course not. You told me not to."
He did me a HUGE favor because due to that I got a second opinion from Cleveland Clinic where instead of having a FULL Transplant I had Laproscopy on 1.1 cm lesion. NO Drugs or Chemo. $500K min vs $40K. Jan 5th will be one year and I'm feeling very well and Cancer free (so far so good) taking NO pharmaceutical drugs if you don't count the Ivermectin I took and then Fenbendazol otc in addition to herbal supplements :).

My substance was not hid from Thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. I was in the pharmacy the other day looking for Lion's Mane. There were about six different products containing "extracts". A seventh product was capsules containing the mushroom itself. I obviously went with that one! Also, I did not have access to fresh fruit for a few days due to a lack of funds, but fruits are something my body always craves. So I took two fizzy tablets each day, each containing 1000 mg Vitamin C as my rescue remedy when I don't have fruit. Needless to say I woke up with a huge cold sore this morning, despite all the Vitamin C.
But I wonder how it would work if the whole world depended on natural remedies. Large crop spaces would be needed instead of relatively small chemical factories, and apparently we are already running out of agricultural land. Let biomedicine rule the land, I say. As long as I can keep my garden and collect and use herbs as I gather more knowledge. Bless you!

Absolutely spot on! Synergistic. Alone, a compound cannot do what it is suppose to do,l. The simplest example is the relationship between Calcium and Vitamin D. Without the other, the body cannot use either one alone.
What has me give pause on purchasing any supplement is what else they include with it, especially those encapsulated. What exactly is the capsule made from? Plastics come to mind.

Generally they will tell you what the capsules are made of. that doesn't mean they're being forthcoming. I'm concerned about what else is in the whole thing. Legally they don't have to disclose under a certain percentage and can round to zero and not list it. I sent a coffee/spice grinder to a friend as a gift this past week. As much as possible I try to get something whole and grind it myself.

So, where can someone source these plants and then how does one go about getting all the benefits from these whole plants? When studies are specific to the isolated chemical or ingredient and dosages for mg/kg, where do I access the whole plant and then prepare so I know that I’m getting what is wanted and needed and get the desired benefits?

I tell people this all the time. I'll give you a very interesting one. Pokeweed. I never would suggest making strong and potentially lethal medicine from this plant, but if you boil the leaves twice and eat it regularly (at least once a year) I believe that complex plant can help with longevity. Every older person I have ever known that eats it, lives into their 90s. Of course this is a little anecdotal due to me knowing people younger that eat it too. But they are all in great health!!
(Note: Pokeweed is fairly safe if you know how to process it. Stay away from the root! Start slow if you attempt to use the leaves.)

@ No. Its berries don’t ripen until late summer and fall. The berries WILL cure constipation - vehemently! Poke salet (not salad) is an herbaceous perennial that can grow to 7’ in favorite conditions, like in the septic drain field, and the roots can become massive.

After years of prescription opiate addiction, Jesus saved me from drug overdosed death. I'm coming on 7 yrs sober but the last 4 years have been painful especially this last year has gotten so hard to walk. The chronic pain is exhausting thus making it very hard to start a herbal medicine garden but I am going to start with growing oregano. Currently taking a 5 day dose of steroids just to finish up Christmas stuff for our 9yr old....I hate that but it's helping me walk without wanting sudden death. Maybe I should try to grow turmeric, in central Oklahoma?

Do you think it’s still worth taking the curcumin supplement if taking regular tumeric happened to not be an option at the particular situation or is it just a waste of time

@@junefield5420 No, I think in our modern world of pseudo food and factory farmed shadows of real produce, supplements are probably a good idea for most of us if that’s all we can get. But I’m also saying that we’re kidding ourselves if we think they are as good as the complete nutritional and medicinal package of the real thing.
